Here on Zantar5 (Indiana) yearly plate prices are more or less a personal property tax. My modest mid size American made P.U., I paid 17K for new is a 2008. I just got the re newal notice and a it will cost $128 to re up. A neighbor across the line in Yukanois pays around $78. Butt, there's a "city sticker" he has to buy annually for another $50. What's up with u folks? Care to share?

Last time I was in the license branch, Indy, the guy next to me paid $3100 for his plates. My $600 didn't seem so bad.

Tags for my F350 costs around $110. But that's for 17000# gross Weight.

Here in Mason CO in Washington I pay $43.50 , gotta love Tim Eyman , poor suckers across the bay have it higher due to higher fees tacked on by ther county

It's about $70.00 for my 2005 Camry. That's for two years. I also have a 74 VW and a small RV and I don't remember what they are but after over 40 years of paying DMV in Ca it's almost a pleasure. And there's no line. 'Course then I do live in nowhere.

Here in Maine we have a fun excise tax. On my '06 Buick Lucerne CSX the excise this year was $348, plates $60.00 (includes $20.00 for "vanity" plates) and $4.00 transfer fee for the city to do it instead of going to State DMV. So, $412.00. Excise drops each year until vehicle is 5 or 6 years old. Wife's 2000 GMC Sierra pickup is bottomed out at $188.84 - includes vanity/conservation plates.

Just had to pay the Commonwealth of Pennslyvania $58.50 for another years registration on my Chevy Silverado 1500. Plus another $90 or so for yearly safety and emissions inspections.

A motorcycle is $18 for yearly registration and $26.50 for inspection.

Ain't got a plain ol' car right now but IIRC , they're $36 a year registration.

And of course , truck pays according to GRVW.

Florida: 2 cars, both with special plates. Wife's car has U.S. Air Force plates, and mine has vanity plates. Less than $100 to renew them both? How do I get away with it? I'm a non-resident because I'm stationed there. Regular price for both cars would around $175, still not too bad.

Oregon is $86 for two years, car or pickup truck for reg.lic.-also no sales tax for vehicles[or anything that you buy[except for personal prop.tax-home,ect.]

Cadillac CTS-V $95 for specialty plates without "vanity"
F-250 $160 for specialty plates with "vanity"

I think for normal plates it would be $75 and $100 respectively.

$62+change for a 1/2 ton Chevy,$52+change for a Chevy Trailblazer. This includes the "temporary" county road and bridge tax that was to only be collected for 5 years 30 years ago.

Just got my renewal notice in the mail for my 2005 F-150, one year standard plates $219. In Kentucky your license plates include a personal property tax on the vehicle. The value is based on the blue book. You can argue with the DMV if you have excessive milage, but 9 times out of ten you lose.

In Michigan, the fees used to be based on weight, but when the cars started getting smaller in the 70's, they changed to a value based system. The value goes down every year, so the cost of tags does, as well. There is a bottom, but I forget what it is.

Anyway, tags for my my '06 Town Car and '05 Mariner cost me a total of $276 last September. We also have an income tax, as well as a general sales tax.

Here in Hamilton county Ohio, i drive a 2000 F-150 Offroad Lariat version and license was between $65 and $70.

Just received the DMV mailed license due notice for my Dodge pickup, in Adams County Ohio, and the fee is $49.87, and we only have one additional county "add on" fee that is ten bucks...I think...not certain. If I request new plates, then the fee jumps to $60.37....The license plates are about the only thing on a vehicle that never wears out, so I'll keep the old plates until they come up with some reason to force replacing them.
My wife's Chrysler Town and Country van is $34.87 and jumps to 45.37 if new plates are requested.

Reminds me, I have to renew mine this week. About $80 for two years on a 2007 mid-size pickup. New York bases it on GVWR.
