Here in Vegas it's legal to have a gun either in plain sight or concealed in the vehicle. I keep a Bulldog 44 sp. within easy reach.
I bet that hurts. I have an old aluminum T ball bat that is around 30" long in case somebody wants to start up a gameThe only weapon I leave in my car is an 18" length of 000 gauge copper service cable.

Luckily in WI, you can have your gun in your vehicle at work. When I lived in IN, you couldn't, so that was 5 days you couldn't carry.
I keep a 1911 in a rug under the front seat, a Glock 27 in the console, and a Ruger SR22 in the glove box. Often times there's a .357 lever gun behind the back seat as well. It's seldom unattended for long. It's parked in the garage at night and wife has her own car.
On the few occasions I drive it to the big city (i.e., Little Rock), I pull them all out of the truck and just carry whats on my belt.
