What do you do that would be considered cheap?

I do, but they go in my range bag for brass.

I did that today for my empty .455 Webley brass. I'll re-use used Ziplock bags for non-food uses.

When I order food from my little cousin the caterer, she sends it in good snap lid containers. I run them through the dishwasher, slap a label on them and use them to store pistol magazines.

Nothing.

I didn’t work 47 years, long hours, all hours, lived below my means, got out of debt, saved and invested to go cheap now. She and I went to Olive Garden for lunch. Our check was $31. I left the fine waiter a $15 tip.

Good for you. I try to reward good service with a nice stack of Golden Dollars.

I've been known to take the left over fast food ketchup packets and squeezed them into the ketchup bottle at home.
I save soy sauce packets from Chinese take out, but I don't bother pouring them in a jar. I've already got a good supply of soy, but I can't bring myself to throw the packets away.

I've noticed a disturbing trend with Broccoli "Crowns". There used to be Crowns and I guess "Regular"? "Stalked" maybe? There were "Crowns" with no more than an inch of stalk, then the regular broccoli that has maybe a 5" or 6" stalk. Well the long stalk variety has disappeared from many stores and they just have "Crowns", but now they have a 3"-4" stalk. They don't look like the pictures on the self-checkout.

I whip out my EDC Boker Automatic and trim them off right there in the produce department. Mostly I get approving looks. But not from the produce guys.

I do the broccoli stalk cutting.. Publix has 6-7 " stalks and they plastic wrap 2 or 3 together and sell as a unit. $ 1.78/lb at Walmart, and you can pick and cut all you want:D

Used to throw away gun rags when they got over-ripe. Now, my wife washes them. It actually makes them feel better.

My wife follows me around turning off lights. When I turn the overhead lights on at the computer, they are quite warm. At the computer during the daytime, she will sometimes pass by and glance up at the lights.

I have been known to wear tennis shoes a few extra miles. Comfort before looks, I always said. The wife will ask me if she can wash them for me. Hint.

I eat the stalks; It's good fiber. And the base of the celery goes in my cabbage stew.

Well, a beer, maybe."

I practice some of the more common methods already listed.
I say often “I’m not cheap. I just hate waste.” I’m big on leftovers. We don’t cook a lot during the week. Anything leftover from Saturday and Sunday is still good ‘til Wednesday. (If it lasts that long.)

As I sort it at our recycle bin, I go through our junk mail checking for pages with blank or almost blank back sides. Any I find I fold over until they are just pocket-sized. I use them as my weekly store/errand lists. I unfold and refold as needed as the sides fill up and eventually use up all of the original blank side of the sheet.

Hypermiling was brought up; I don't go that far but always keep economy in mind. 15 years ago, out of the blue, I was gifted with patience while driving. I have always been able to make a clutch (remember them?) and brakes last a long time. Now even more. Within reason I feel I have failed if I have to touch the brakes for anything besides stopping. Out here traffic is usually light enough I can run the speed limit or sometimes less. When towing a boat or driving the camper van I try to keep it down to 60 mph. If traffic wants to run faster in all lanes, I'll find a speed governed truck and pace him from in front.
