What do you do that would be considered cheap?

Have a friend from Scotland. When he opens a "new" bottle of single malt scotch he holds it under his nose, and yours, reciting "a wee whiff of the new." That's all you get today. We may talk about a wee dram tomorrow but a whiff is all you get for now.

I've tried the technique with my "other" friends and it has never gone well or been successful.

I wash plastic ware and "to-go" containers until they break or fall apart. Solo cups can last years in my care.

The black plastic ones, with the clear snap-on lids! Yes. The square styrofoams I cut at their hinges, and wash off. They make the best 'paper plates', by far. I section off the good-quality paper napkins in restaurants. I can get 4-8 uses from one..save a tree!

Don’t know if it’s considered cheap, but I don’t waste anything. I make use of every crumb, drop or glop and turn lights off when nobody is in the room. I will also buy store brands if it tastes good or performs as well. On the other hand, I am not afraid to drop $$$$ on something I want.

I've noticed a disturbing trend with Broccoli "Crowns". There used to be Crowns and I guess "Regular"? "Stalked" maybe? There were "Crowns" with no more than an inch of stalk, then the regular broccoli that has maybe a 5" or 6" stalk. Well the long stalk variety has disappeared from many stores and they just have "Crowns", but now they have a 3"-4" stalk. They don't look like the pictures on the self-checkout.

I whip out my EDC Boker Automatic and trim them off right there in the produce department. Mostly I get approving looks. But not from the produce guys.
With all due respect, you are going too far. Ethics matter.

Drink tap water instead of the bottled stuff in its bottles that generate waste. Been drinking it for 75 years, still hale and hearty. On a hot day, fill an old style thermos or new style "thermo-flask" with ice cubes top off with tap water. Works fine.
If I see half empty water bottles I take them home, pour them in my tea kettle, boil for 90-120 seconds.
Store brand dishwashing/laundry detergents work fine.
The black and white "generic" products were all the rage during the inflation of 1979-1981 or so. I found them rather hit or miss.
For personal consumption I have found store brand sodas fine, for social gatherings I bring name brands.

Cut open toothpaste tubes to scrape out remaining toothpaste. you'd be surprised how much is left.

There is ALWAYS one more dab of peanut butter in the jar, there is ALWAYS one more dab of toothpaste in the tube.
My wife caught me one morning getting that last dab out of the toothpaste tube with a pair of channel locks-and I can make the inside of a peanut butter jar look dishwater clean with a kitchen knife :D

Understand this boys, being cheap in some things is the reason we have so much extra money to blow on important things like guns, hunting stuff, fishing stuff and boats-life's necessities

Did I mention how many extra sandwiches I can get out of an apparently empty mayonnaise jar?

CHEAP?
I have a buddy who's so cheap, he brings scotch tape to gun shows. He uses it to fasten his $15 wristband so that he can easily remove it and sell it for 1/2 price.

I used yo get friends to save me the toothpaste tubes way back...they used tin to make toothpaste and other things that came in tubes
