What do you like to keep things concealed? Other than a coat, that is.

One size larger than needed T shirt when dressed down, sport or golf shirt when dressed a little neater; all untucked with an OWB holster for my 442. When I have to clean up my act (very rare) and tuck in the shirt, I throw on a sport coat.
 
I don't dress around my gun...my gun dresses around me...meaning, if I need to dress up, the 442 is on my ankle...causal clothes, any untucked shirt works with that or my P2000...even a t-shirt.
 
an unbuttoned ss button-up over a vertical shoulder rig does the job, when it's cool a jacket and when it's cold a coat. In formal setteing suit jaket. Iwb is also handy on the really hot days

I tend to carry using a shoulder holster under my outer wear shirt (T-shirt under that to keep the holster/gun away from direct contact with my skin) almost year round, but especially so in warmer weather; gives me a fair amount of freedom in choosing shirts – tucked or un-tucked, jacket or no jacket – as long as they're a loose fit. I find that patterns on the shirts do break some possible "printing" if not wearing a jacket. Absent that, either an IWB or high ride OWB or pocket holster will fill the bill. I'm not personally fond of ankle holsters, but that's just me.

I've carried the above way during our short Oregon summers, in Arizona and in Panama also. It has always worked out for me.

Oh, and I don't mind "Hawaiian" shirts if the weather is hot; doesn't seem to raise any extra "fashion" attention even here in Oregon. I choose less garish design patterns, they still help to break up any "printing" and they are less likely to stand out. I sometimes also like "Guayabera" style shirts for hot and humid summers, but find that IWB holsters a bit more appropriate with them (since they tend to be made of really light weight cloth, they tend to allow shoulder holsters and harness to "Print" easier).
 
OK, people are gonna laugh, but I've been carrying for a number of years now down here in the heat and have tried a zillion things, but the one I keep going back to when all else fails and I can't abide anything but a pair of shorts and a tee is crotch carry. Think about it...all but the perviest of society have been bred to not look at another's crotch, and a suitably sized gun (mine is a PPK) tucked into one of those cup holding jock straps--sans cup, of course--disappears but is quick on the draw if need be. Took a little getting used to, I admit, and there is always the nagging image of an unwanted discharge (no snickers, please) leaving me, ahem, a little light, but it does hide well. And if a lady does take a peek and happens to get the wrong idea...well, I can live with that.:)

I have heard of people doing that and a local police officer was killed after placing a felon in the back of his police car when the felon pulled a .357 mag from the crotch. Sad part is the guy had been searched by each of four officers and all of them missed it.

For me, that would not work since I carry a full size 1911 and there is little spare room in the crotch area.
 
Changing the subject a moment:

Yesterday I needed a quick pocket gun for an assignment. For the first time in many years, I picked up a Model 36 snubbie from a safe and put it in my pocket. My favorite 1911 was left at home.

Evidently the pockets on my pants have gotten smaller over the years. It barely fit and there was no room for anything else in that pocket. Years ago, I would have been able to drop it in a pocket and still have room for keys, money clip and change.
 
I usually wear a safari/photographers vest over a long sleeve shirt in the winter, or over a tee shirt in the summer..I have a number of vests, my warm weather vest is very light and comfortable in the summertime, also lots of pockets for spare mags and such..Usually carry some type of semi auto in a fobus holster in cross draw position on my left side..Vests typically cost $25 to $75 depending on brand and where you buy it. Be sure to get the longer length version..
 
I pocket carry and buy slacks and shorts with pleated fronts for dress and Cargo for casual carry. I do some IWB carry but I OWB carry when I wear a suit or sports coat.
The Uncle Mike or Blackhawk pocket holster work great for me.

I can pocket-carry my 638 in any shorts or pants with decent-sized pockets. I've carried it in everything from cutoffs to a tux.
 
I carry IWB at about 4:00-4:30. I wear an untucked shirt for concealment. I use short-sleeve button-up shirts with straight hems. I get the ones that are dark in color and/or have patterns (NOT Hawaiian shirts). I wear them year-round. On the rare occasion I can't wear an untucked shirt I resort to pocket carry.

Try this holster. It can carry over 500 guns and all you need to wear is pants, no untucked shirt or extra garment. I live in South Florida, and I carry an AMT 45 Backup, my 649 Bodyguard, or my 44 Bulldog in it all the time.

I too struggled with this same issue;)

Bought one of those really nice ladies leather handbags,
one of those that has a compartment for a handgun.

Jest let my darlin wife carry the gun.

If she's not along and the weather is too warm (hot) to wear a proper concealment garment...
The trusty zippered pant fly holster, like ol Bond used works great.

I have found that an American-made sedan makes a certain fashion statement and is highly effective for concealing my .38 ;)

Thunderwear: Holsters Gun Holsters

They fully concealed a Beretta M9 in the heat of the sandbox for almost a year. Never flashed once. Used to be stopped by the guards before leaving to prove I was armed. Carried one fully loaded mag in the weapon with three more on the opposite side. Would even work for small of back carry if worn backwards but would be hard to sit if you pack a longer barrel. I bought three of them to use since I was worried it might wear out and was still using the same one on the way home. The newer models are even better.
