What do you think S&W should have included with the Shield?

What is the most important item that you think S&W missed and should have been part of the Shield when released? You may have more than one suggestion, but I'm interested in the one that tops your list as the most important. This may be a design detail, a hardware addition like night sights, a third magazine or anything you think is relevant.
Bare in mind that S&W probably had a price point to meet and is based around concealed carry.

No Penalty For Multiple Suggestions..............:D

To meet their price point I was amazed that they included 2 magazines.
I just wish the mags I ordered would arrive soon. They're cranking out so many Shields spare mags are scarce.

I can't think of a thing. In fact, at the price point, I am amazed that they provided two magazines. It's hard to guess who will want different sights, or whatever, so that to me is smart to just put the standard model out there, and then those who want to modify it can do so. Me, I am happy with mine as is.

I'm sure the magazine production will eventually catch up...I've been able to find a few extra ones here and on eBay, so I am fairly well set, but will still buy some more when I find them.

I am really pleased with pistol, and I think S&W did one heck of a good job designing it, producing it, and packaging it.

A fiber sight would have been nice, but number #1 for me would be a machined sear for a smoother trigger with less take up.

Not exactly with the Shield, but I wish S&W or some aftermarket company would make an extended thumb safety like on the FS model.

1. A discount coupon for ammo!
2. A nice plastic box like my 9C came in....was surprised at the cardboard box.

I actually wish all companies would start sending guns in cardboard boxes to save on cost. They used to come that way long ago and most of the time those boxes just sit in a closet or are thrown away.

The cardboard box is fine and should be expected at this price point. I do wish Nite sights had been offered as an option. The ambi safety or bigger safety would have made the gun thicker and taken away part of it's appeal. If they made it thicker I would have just gone on with my 9C.

This can easily be solved with just the Apex sear ($40) and about 10 minutes of your time. No experience necessary, all you need to do is watch a couple of Youtube videos.
Hard sear install.

I was thinking maybe a plastic case and a cheap barrel brush. However, at $449 and two mags it is a pretty good deal. I think it is priced right for what you get.

Levers that make a gun "thicker" that go in towards the body are actually quite irrelevant when it comes to concealability. Now an ambi lever would ,but it would be nice if they made extended levers for both lefties and righties. I'm a right handed shooter (thankfully) but I feel for all those lefties that have to make due with what's given to them if an aftermarket company dosn't step up and help them out.

The cardboard box should be expected at this price point, and is ok by me, In fact as we know cardboard boxes in good condition from early guns are worth quite a bit now. Like most of us I'm shocked we got two mags. I personally think that should be standard. As far as changes, only thing that would be cool for me is to have had a stainless slide as an option.

1) It would be nice if the front site white dot would not fall out after about 30 rounds fired!
2) A magazine assist loader like the Glock.

Actually Apex released a Shield Kit yesterday that is specifically designed for the Shield.
I just think S&W could have added a smoother sear for a few bucks more. It will cost me a bunch more than that!

WOW! I thought I was alone with that one. My paint came out in the first few mags. The paint didn't even seem set.
S&W actually sent me a new front sight, but naturally I don't have a sight pusher to install it.
I ended up painting it using Model Masters Fluorescent Red on a bright white base and it looks great!
