What do you think this Clark Custom Combat is worth?

I have this 14-2 Clark Custom Combat that I just acquired. It is a beautiful gun with a bunch of extras. Just wondering what you folks think the value of this gun would be. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Less than you'd think. You have found a revolver made for a tiny market, and one that would not be easy to sell in most gun shops unless you found that one buyer.

Clark is still putting these types of guns, though probably not on the K frame. While I can't put a price on this exact gun, I will say I noted a Clark 627 that took 6 months to sell at 999.00.

Well, there isn’t a single Clark revolver on GBer and Only 3 Clark 1911’s and the cheapest one is $1950.00.

I's not collectable unless you have a collection of Clark Customs. There is maybe $200 new retail in the leather and speedloaders. If you paid $600 for the total package I guess that you are ok. What matters is are you happy?

With the right bullet it should drill holes on the bench. Depends on the twist. Some of those are 1 in 10. A stock S&W is 18.75 and a good factory one will shoot really close. Double action is where they come alive. $900-$1000 would be my guess. I have a couple but not a Clark. I value mine at $800. It costs about $700 just to install a barrel without the rib.

I love custom guns and have some. However like cars you never get close to what you put into them and a lot of times they are worth more if you had left them alone.

I happen to like the old PPC type guns and have several of them.
For a while they were cheap and would get dusty on the shelf of the gun shop.
However, they are making a come back in these days. Check sold prices on Gunbroker and you will be surprised. What was a few years ago a$350 ask now sell closer to $1000.00.

As to the OPs, the gear while maybe nice to have it adds nothing to the value to me. The gun and pamphlet I'd guess would sell around $800 to $900.

I have discovered to my chagrin that building a custom gun is generally not a money-making proposition. With few exceptions the only one who makes money on a custom build is the gunsmith.

That having been said, it is frequently possible to find a good buy on one somebody has paid to have built but for whatever reason no longer wants/needs. If you can find one at a reasonable (to you) price that fits into your plans to use, it can be a real bargain... certainly less than building it yourself. Just don’t think of it as an investment.

In 2003 prices, it was ~$1000. My guess is it is still worth $1000 if you are happy with it. I like custom stuff.

A Clark Custom built revolver is a shooter , not much of a collector market .
As a shooter ... they are sweet , if you enjoy well built and accurate and first rate trigger pulls ... they will put a smile on your face and a song in your heart . To Me , mine's priceless ... a converted model 64 built for Bullseye Match shooting ...

OP - How much did you pay for your 14-2 Clark Custom ... If it makes you smile when you shoot it .... Then It's worth every penny !

Custom gun values really comes down to who made them. A Clark 1911 built on a Colt Series 70 is worth more than a stock Series 70, by about double. Unfortunately his revolver work hasn't appreciated as much. I would think that gun on the auction site would bring $600-$800.

Between $600 and $1000, just depends how much it means to you. For me I look at the craftsmanship and how much labor likely went in to it. If it’s a unique gun with well executed customization, I’ll pay a fair price. Bill Davis guns, et al. are a similar proposition.

Like others have said, there's not much resale value unless you find a motivated buyer that wants a PPC gun or really loves to collect Clark Custom.

The fact that it's built on a 14-2 gives you some indication as to when it was built. Most of these guns started getting built on L-frames by the late-80s.

PPC guns are going to have less of a market than NRA Action guns because they don't have a red dot. Most of the games that have revolver classes these days require a dot to be competitive. The IDPA Revolver class wouldn't allow this gun because of the Aristocrat sight on the barrel.

If you bought it as a shooter, I'm sure it's a great gun. If you bought it to flip it, I think you may have it a while. Hopefully you got a screaming deal for it.

There has been one similar Clark gun in a pawnshop a 100 miles from me for over 3 months, But then they are asking $1500 for it. I am not interested and wouldn't at 1/2 that price.

Don't know a price, bit I agree with the folks that say - if it makes you happy to look at, feel in your hand, and shoots really well, it is priceless. I look at things like that as "I will probably own it until the day I die, and then, what do I care what it is worth". What are those 3 things next to the holster that look like trumpet keys?? Guns are just like cars. Others don’t care a lot about your “custom built”.
Guns put out by well known Smiths may do a little better, but only to a small market that knows what they are. I’ve had guys get mad because I’m not the slightest bit interested in another’s DIY build. I have seen some beautiful custom rifles sell at entry level prices. You take a worse beating if
chambered for wildcat or obsolete cartridge. We you commission or build a custom gun you should know up front you aren’t very often going to get your money back.

That gun and gear in a pawn shop or gun shop would be $1000-$1200, which means they would have no more than $350 or $400 in it. If I were to have bought it, I think that $600-$700 for the package would be a fair price. It is a nice gun and should be a fantastic shooter. As mentioned earlier, if you wanted it, the price doesn't matter I would be proud to own it. Enjoy and thanks for showing.

Gun and accessories make up a PPC rig. It is no doubt a fine accurate revolver made for shooting 7 to 50 yards.
Problem is, NRA won't let you play unless you are a cop or military.
They apparently don't want "civilians" seen shooting at humanoid B27 targets.
So you have a nice "range gun."
