What Else Do You Collect Besides Firearms?

I would love to see pictures of your challenge coins. I have one or two of those.

Also, someone mentioned matchbooks. I used to have one of those overgrown glass floor vases that looked kind of like a snifter that was full of matchbooks. I believe I got rid of them in one of my moves, sometimes there is just too much stuff to lug around to the next dwelling.

I love the "ex-girlfriends/wives" comment. So far, I have only the former, hope never the latter will be.

I know a guy who collects vintage Coleman brand stuff, stoves, camping equipment, you name it. That was a new one on me! He told me that he's made some good coin on it over the years.

Another guy I know collects vintage packs of cigarettes. He has an enormous amount of them, some of them actually have asbestos in the filters! He told me that he has been contacted over the years by several lawyers to purchase those specifically, go figure.

Some years ago, I stumbled across a small collection of Roseville pottery through a distant relative in Ohio. It wasn't anything I was interested in, nor did my wife like it, so I ebay'd it. Just goes to show that there's a butt for every seat.

This is one of my favorites:

I collect stuff and my stuff collects dust. Quan-tum (wonder why this word is on the banned list?) 381 Crankin reels were my favorite big bass reels back in my Lake Okeechobee fishing guide days of the mid 80s/90s. Discontinued in the early 1990s and when ebay came along I tried to buy them all.

I'll try to respond somewhat differently, although on topic.

I have always just been curious; that is, I love to learn. I can appreciate many different hobbies, interests, and respect the craftsmanship that went into an object or perhaps an objects history, for instance.

That said, the one collection I miss is classic cars. When I was in high school and growing up, my friends and I really enjoyed cars from the 1950s, 60's, and 70s. Mopars, Ford, GM, it was all enjoyed.

I had several classic cars all before I could even go to a bar and buy a beer. I started working mowing lawns at 10 in my neighborhood and was working practically 30-40 hours a week during my middle and high school years. When I was going to college--being young and starting out in life-- I sold the few classic cars I had and a ton of parts and accessories.

I've told a few of my friends this in the past year or two, I really miss the collectors and spirit of classic car collecting. I was fortunate to have really good advice from older collectors from a young age.

I'm hopeful within the next year or two, I will be able to get back into the hobby.

I've got a few collections from various stages of life. When I was younger, I was a big sports card collector, mostly baseball, but some basketball and football as well. This also kind of bled into me collecting hats, which I probably still have about 60 or so. Some of these are autographed by players.
From there I started collecting Nascar posters and flyers, most of which are signed by the drivers. This was fueled by the fact that the races came to Homestead for their yearly grand finale, right as I was about the age to start driving.
More recently, I've made it a habit to visit Harley Davidson shops while I travel, and pick up 1 shirt from the dealership I visit near my main destination. I've probably got about 15 of them now. To be honest I'd have to find them all and lay them out to be sure. I used to be able to keep them all in order of when they were added to the collection.

I've also been occasionally picking up Matchbox cars. The last few ones I've picked up were 70's era Chevy Chevelles. They made a few different colors over the last few years, and I was given the first one by a buddy of mine as motivation to get my full size one under way. Every once in a while I'll pick one up, if I notice it's got an error, such as miss printed decals, or packaged on the wrong card, or in one case, it was put in upside down.

My family has also made it a habit of continuing my Florida State "Shrine" as they call it. I'm a very proud alumni, and they seem to be good at finding things that always end up in my little collection. It began with a few little things that I had gathered from different events around campus while I was a student, and just seemed to grow each year with their gifts.

Guitars and coins, although I haven't been focused on coins for years.

My son has fewer guitars, but he has some real nice ones. He just picked up a 1954 Gibson Es-295 gold top. He's only 20 years old, but he put it on layaway and made payments. Paid it off a few weeks ago.

I collect militaria items, the firearms and equipment of the soldier, from around the world

I like the steel combat helmets from US and others , German helmets are too expensive, I buy the more affordable helmets that dont cost much

I also like all types of old bayonets from around the world

classic movies on DVD , Film Noir , war movies, or other historical documentaries.

As a boy I collected stamps. Still have the collection but haven't put anything into it in 60 years. I have a small knife collection around 60 knives, and add to it occasionally. I have someting like 21 bullet moulds, but don't collect them: they're for everyday use to keep my firearms shooting cheaply.

Not really a collector, but I do have 3 Triumph cars, 1 Triumph motorcycle, an extensive rock and mineral collection (self collected). My firearms are not a collection but used for target practice, protection and hunting. Also have a coin collection from when I was a paper boy in the 60's.
So maybe I am a collector after all!

I started with the Presidential dollar sets from the US Mint in 1998 I think. When that ended, I started collecting US proof sets, all SF pretty much. I'm back to 1955, they're getting costly.
