What gun do you reach for the most?

Since the summer my primary CCW has been my 4" M29-10. My BUG has been my Ruger LCR327.

Lately, it's been my Model 60 DAO in a Mika Pocket holster.

Easy to grab 'n go and stick in my jacket pocket on these frigid Ohio mornings.

Hey Bait, do you mean in the house or out and about?

I meant outdoors, but I had not considered that some of you may have remote areas of your house that may have hidden threats.:D

My house guns are another matter. Usually a 1911 and a Mossberg Shockwave loaded with 00 buckshot.

GO-TO-GUN

For town that calls for the 640 PRO. Any other time it's the Colt 1911- .45 cal.

I would dearly love to say one of my beloved S&Ws or 1911s. Perhaps even a classic PP/K but due to the high acid content in my skin none of them are really a go-to, Ill remove bluing and eventually pit stainless in the form of my grip. Secondarily I have a fear of employing one of them to save my bacon and having it impounded only to have it possibly returned in shameful condition, if at all.

I bow in shame to admit I was actually glad when the Tupperware guns came around. As long as I don't handle the slides much or forget to wipe them down every couple days I cannot harm them.

If I didn't have this inherited condition Id easily be happy with a 4 inch model 29.

My go-to is a H&K VP-9.

I don't get out into the sticks much these days but the last time I did ("out West") I had my .45 Commander along on that trip and the friend I was visiting suggested I take his .45 Colt Blackhawk whenever we left his home for the boonies, which I did, out of respect for his wishes. I'm not a single-action man, but I felt certain I probably wouldn't need the gun anyway. ;)

The next time I visit him, I'll take my 629 Mountain Gun. Here in Indiana, there's nothing much "remote", so I'm perfectly confident with the Commander.

That's a great looking 629 you have there. I've always thought the -4 version was about as good as they get. :)

For outdoor adventures anywhere on the North American Continent my Glock 20sf. Stone axe reliable with anything I've ever put through it. Also butt ugly as a stone axe so I'll spare you the pictures.
