He did say that his S&W collection was now complete!

Seriously speaking, I sure hope he is OK.

There was a thread a few days ago where a couple of posters ragged on the Swiss and he got a little hot, and ( I thought) rightfully so. I hope he didn't let it color his perception of everyone here.

It's so easy to bash cops, the French, the Swiss, the Democrats, school teachers, etc., etc., etc., . . . anybody who isn't "us" - but if most people would stop to think, the world ( and our membership) isn't that one dimensional. We all are close to or likely know someone who fits in one of these or a hundred other categories and wouldn't think of trying to intentionally insult someone personally.

I have my share of buttons that get pushed by people I don't agree with, but I hope for the most part I try to live and let live. Only those who pose an actual threat to me or that which I hold dear are deserving of my scorn. A difference of opinion about trivial politics, child raising, union affiliation, church attendance, or left handed blue-eyed government employees or whatever isn't worth making enemies or unintentionally hurting feelings on this board. At least not to me. And I've been here long enough to know which threads and which posters I should avoid since they rub me the wrong way. Hopefully I've learned not to enter into every argument I'm invited to join.

I, too, enjoy Swissman's posts (especially the pictures) and somehow I find it a hoot to assign his slightly broken English to Al Bundy's face and voice. I hope he's just been too busy to post lately.

+1

I enjoy the insight from someone of a different country. There is more to this old world than where I'm sitting.

Come on back Swissman.

Swissman and I exchanged a few emails. He seems a fine gentleman, talented and capable. I'd not want to see him leave the forum.

I wonder how many of us would be capable of joining a Swiss forum on a technical topic and communicating in their written language? I could not begin to do it, no matter what the topic.

I've been to Switzerland several times and I found it a delightful country. A bit nippy in the winter, though. And a Swiss hotel maid served me breakfast in bed. What a charming custom. Nice people, too. Try the chocolate if you ever get over there.

HA! most of our worst enemies as Americans live right here in the USA. there are plenty of lazy, stupid, dependent slugs right here.

you'd be surprised at how many europeans hate their socialist pansy governments, and love freedom and self-reliance.

i'd be willing to fund a program that sends all our parasites and pansies to europe, and let all the tough-minded, gun-loving french, germans, spaniards, italians, etc. all come here.

Swissman seems like a great guy. After I kept going on about how much I liked his fixed sight Model 19, he sent me a nice email and included a picture of his 19, "just for me" it said. It would be a shame if he was "run off", due to someone's thoughtless remarks. I sure hope we hear from him.

Same here. It can actually be kind of funny sometimes.

Swissman is a great guy.

I got an email from him last week...
He didn't mention anything out of the ordinary.
He was going to check on something for me...

I look forward to him coming back and posting as well. I agree with getting the perspective from someone in another country. His pictures and stories of him shooting are always worthing checking out. I also love the Al Bundy picture he has as an avatar. He just now needs a NO MA'AM t-shirt...if he doesn't already have one.

Give up bashing the French? NEIN!

The Swiss are cool though. One of my ancestors got run out of Switzerland two or three centuries ago. However, all is forgiven.

Swissman doesn't strike me as someone who would get his undies in a wad over anything said on this forum. More likely he and Swissmrs are off on another of their adventures and we will soon have some more pictures and tales of said adventure. Here is hoping that they are in good health. Thanks Larry
