What happened to the Colt King Cobra .22's

To sure. Ive got the 4.25" and have been waiting on the 6". They seem to start to become available then nothing. Not even on Gunbroker. Not in a big hurry at all, certainly not paying over MSRP.

Don't know why production was stopped, but they have restarted. I finally found one about a month ago and it appears to be the same as early production. (no recessed charge holes). To date I have fired over 400 rounds thru this gun. I also have a 617 that I bought last January and have close to 3000 rounds thru it. The Smith has a smoother and slightly lighter trigger than the Colt. The Colt is easier to clean. Accuracy is about the same. For now, I prefer the Smith because of the better trigger and I also prefer the heavier weight. The Colts are out there, but not in great numbers.

They are all over GB right now. I've got several in my watchlist. Crazy prices, I've seen $1200 to $1600.
For a while there was none and then all of a sudden there was about 10 different listings.
They are all 4.25" barrels listed right now.

Cajun has great point. Big announcement then nothing. What's kind of odd is that very recently they have added additional Anaconda barrel length (4) and 2 more Python lengths (2.5 and 5). And now some are seeing signs of the 22 popping up. Sounds like back on track!

There has been a 4.25" model sitting in one of the local LGS's for a couple of months now at list price. They had two and the first one sold within a few days. Doesn't seem to be any interest in the other one. I've handled it a couple of times but just haven't gotten interested enough to buy it. Probably because I have quite a few other .22's and I just can't get very excited about another one.

The gun looked great until I got to those grips. Sheesh...they chose the ugliest rubber grips possible. If I get one, it's getting new stocks immediately.

They do look nice. I'll stick with my 90 year old Colt for now.

Don't they make batch runs? I'd wait.
That is how most mass produced firearms are made, in batches. I doubt they have enough space and certainly not enough people to make every model at the same time, much more practical and economical to make them in batches.

I just noticed Hickok45 has posted a video on the King Cobra 22 this morning...or late last night I suppose. Anyway it's there if anyone is interested. I haven't watched it yet,
Yep, and he was able to ping the 100 yard gong with it too.
