What has happened to Smith And Wesson?

Customer service has been top notch, in my experiences with them. They've sent me more parts than I can remember for no charge at all, though I was willing to pay for every one of them.

I have to agree with you (even though it hurts:D)
Dealt with Colt, Ruger, Walther and S&W, and had great results with customer service in all cases. With Colt I screwed up the sear spring and told them, two weeks passed and it arrived at the house, repaired free of charge.:)

Do you know if they sell any S&W pompoms at the store? :D

My experiences with all brands has been hit and miss recently and I can only conclude that you have to be very careful before you accept the gun. I do recall when our department ordered new stainless revolvers, maybe 25 years ago, to replace our worn Model 15s. About 20% had to be returned to S&W for a variety of problems our range guys could not fix.

Nothing really new here. Any mass produced product will have problems from time to time. Buyer beware!

I should have clarified my statement. The Range Master took the gun off the range for safety reasons. He took the side plate off and loosened the main spring screw and took all the internals out and "Removed the Cylinder". He gutted the gun. He put it back together and told me I could have it back when I was leaving and to send it back to S&W before bringing it back on his range. My friends and I were shooting the 629 while he was doing all of this. I'm sorry I left out all the details. I guess thats why I was called a liar.
Thanks for that.
Sorry you got two lemons.

I did not see you called a liar. I don't have time right now to read it all, but please report any such posts with the red/white triangle at top right.

I think we're done here.
Most everyone dislikes the lock, but constant ranting about it won't help.
