Well, I've gone full circle, again. I've carried everything from light weight J Frames to 3" .45 1911, back down to a .380 P238, up to a 9mm P938. Now I want to go back up to my full size Colt National Match .45. Funny how I feel fine with the smaller stuff until things feel kind of "weird" around; then I always want my .45.

I could use some ideas for carrying a full size 1911 concealed. I'm a heavy guy, 5-10 260 Lbs. I think I would feel best right now with that & one of the others as a bug.

Thanks!

Galco slide, high and tight.

"Simplicity is the essence of good taste" - wait, that was a sign on a beauty shop..still might apply here. Have more than a few 1911 holsters...all work for me.

Best.

depends on what you find comfortable. I wear mine at 3 o'clock owd with a leather jacket to cover it.

Start with a good belt. Otherwise even the best holster will sag and pull yer britches down.

Best Holster for a 1911

For an IWB, I like the Tucker Answer (many other similar holsters are now on the market). I use the same holster to carry my officers, compact commander and full size 1911's.

More information needed.

You looking to carry outside the waistband or inside? Appendix, crossdraw, strong side, lower back or shoulder?

I'm probably gonna half to stay with OWB strong side. Maybe a better belt will help if any of you have a suggestion. Here's what I have had for years. Both are Bianchi.

Galco Contour, The Beltman and Wilderness belts - ALL with stiffeners - all have served me well... for years. Wear high and tight - 6'2", 230# and old.

Best.

I use a safariland buckless belt. It's the sturdiest belt I own, I would use the buckled version, but I found the buckless at a garage sale for cheap.

Here's my rig from TT Gunleather (Tim Thurner) and my Wilson CQB:

High Noon Holsters Slideguard

or

Milt Sparks 55 BN

I have one of each for my Combat Commander and a slide guard for my Sig P220. Both are excellent and sturdy holsters. Belts from either outfit are superb as well.

At 6ft 1" and a little over three spins I qualify. This holster is a ALFONSO that I must have bought 40 years or so ago. It has a butt back and muzzel forward style. It feels and rides good. I just hardly ever use it as I am more into revolvers and retired now. The son is still in business.

Any of the sweet rigs previously posted along with a set of suspenders!
"Just do not ask why I know about the suspenders"?
