I'm helping out with the annual FC gun raffle, and I was wondering what the hot guns are right now.

I will admit, I'm mostly old school and do not keep up on what is trending in the new firearm, caliber, and scope realm.

Cost is an issue too, so we try to keep it under $800 or less.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would take the $$ & get a semi-custom .22LR of some sort. It'd be different, it could be cool if done well.

My .o2

I'd say the UC lines from Lipsey may be cool. I bit anyway.

The new bodyguard 2.0 seems to also be hot on the internet. Not my flavor, but as they say YMMV.

Everyone needs to own a Seecamp in their collection don't they?

I heard the guy behind the counter at the LGS say anything you can carry on your person is hot here in IN.

A Mossberg 500 or 590 Retrograde?

Or maybe a new Remington 870 Fieldmaster?

A friend has a Fieldmaster. I like it.

Springfield Hellcat Pro or Echelon bundle. We sell them like crazy, esp the Hellcat Pro. I also second the S&W Bodyguard in .380. People really like them.

I assume FC is fire dept. if the budget is $800 for one gun, I'd go with a nice deer rifle and scope for Pennsylvania.

Agree^^^. Several years ago a friend was selling raffle tickets for his VFW lodge. The prize was a new Savage Bolt Action Rifle with factory mounted scope in 6.5 Creedmoor. "Engage Model with Bushnell Scope". I was the lucky winner. Very nice rifle and great accuracy.

There are lots of variations of the Ruger 10/22 available now, and pistol caliber carbines seem popular.

It seems to me many of the younger crowd have a fixation for the Glock 19, but this is PA, as stated above. A nice, scoped deer rifle may bring them with money in hand. I personally don't hunt anymore, but the rifle would be my choice. I just don't know which one and what caliber.

Your looking to sell raffle tickets to people who aren't that into guns. Forget specialty items.
I'd go with either a nice bolt action hunting rifle or a nice 9mm carry pistol. Maybe an AR depending on the area.

If you have a friendly dealer, maybe pick a deer rifle, an AR and a handgun and offer a choice.
