I am lounging around here in SW Lounge and show a disassembled handgun. It is my second favorite auto pistol aside from the Smith and Wesson Model 41 and add the Smith and Wesson 52 .38 Wadcutter.

Anyhoo this handgun was in WWI for a hint and went through WWII with the Korean Conflict clear into Vietnam. Special OPs and SEALS prefer this handgun over the M9.

Who can tell me what this is? We're just lounging around and having fun here with real questions and stripped detail....

It appears to be a Colt 1911, although it looks way too good to have been in all those wars...plus I've never seen one with the rampant Colt located in that position on the frame. My 1918 Colt doesn't have it in that spot. It's either a nice restoration or a confused copy.

The big question is why is the agitated pony, if that's what the stamp is, under the grips?

It looks like a rebuilt Officer's Model with a Commander Slide assembly. It has been reblued. ............

Where's the laptop with the YouTube video showing you how to put it all back together :p

Can't just be me :o

Was an early version of the Swiss Army Knife around in WW I?
