What is the most unusual place you have ever seen where guns were sold?

I'll start. I know a guy who is a pharmacist and a FFL dealer. For the last 25+ years,he has operated a combination gun shop/drugstore.

we had one of those in a small town in Iowa. now most of my business is at my barber/gun shop. I also used to stop in at a small gas station/gun shop in Nebraska. found some great deals on NOS el paso weavers there. lee

Just seven miles south of here on Highway 101 is Cannon Beach, a tourist town known for scenic beauty, with attractions like Haystack Rock and Tillamook Head.

Cannon Beach Surf Shop sells lots of stuff water-fun related, and upstairs, firearms! Mostly Glock and the like, but still, guns and ammo in a surf shop!

The proprietor had some nice firearms for sale.

A lot of Mom & Pop Country Stores carried firearms and ammunition back before '68.

A big clothing and department store named ZCMI, Utah's first department and clothing store. They had a very small glass case, two shelves, about three feet deep and five feet long, with handguns in it. It was in the men's clothing section right across from the suits and sport coats.

Hardware stores, general stores, country stores, quasi-convience stores having a gun counter not unusual. Not as much any more, but dept stores used to frequently have a gun or gun/ hunting/ fishing dept.

Yes, one of semi local establishments used to be ( owner's first name)'s Coins & Guns .

A different catagory is where the owner of an established unrelated business uses the pre existing properly zoned and licsensed premesis for an FFL , but doesn't have a Publically visable gun counter, nor advertise it to his usual customer base. I've seen this at a liquor store and an industrial chemical supply house.

But I guess the most unusual was a store that was half C&R type firearms, half adult sophisticate literature ( aka porn).

Local FFL has a bicycle store with a small gun shop in the basement. And no, he aren't associated with Iver Johnson, though he does have a few in the case at times.

My go to local dealer is Geno's Tools and Toys. He sells (and buys) used tools and guns and also stocks new firearms, ammo and powder, plus he's a class III dealer. Located in Waterford, MI.

The largest dealer by sales volume in Ohio started that way. Was a little deli/convenience store with a small gun counter. Eventually the non-firearm related items were dropped and they've grown to include 3 locations in the Columbus area. They are the go to store for LEO sales and always have a good selection in the used section.
