What is this battery thing for 15/22 ??

Would you be interested in some nice beach-front property just south of Phoenix? :p

Hey, with melting ice caps....

Honestly though :
Battery life in hours ** 50 000 (over 5 years of continuous use)

Setting 8 isn't that bad, honestly. It's been on for about 3 years so far. Working great.

Aimpoints rock.

I'm just southeast of Phoenix and there's no beach-front property in sight anywhere. I think there's shenanigans afoot.

This reminds me...I'm hitting the road tomorrow on a 9 day auto train/motorcycle camping tour of the Skyline and Blue Ridge Parkways and I have to pick up some spare batteries!

Shush!!!! I've got a sucker on the line!!!!

PS - I lived in Phoenix and Tucson as a kid back in the early to mid 50s. LOT different back then. :)

Great time of the year for a trip like that. Enjoy!

I suppose the batteries ran out on my reply to this thread? Is that why it disappeared?

But why would you ever put a $1500 acog on a $400 gun . Just askin the ? :D

While I don't have a $1500 acog but I have a $500 Aimpoint on a QD mount that gets moved to a $400 gun once in a while.

I got the "cheap" Aimpoint PRO for my 5.56, with only 30,000 continuous hours (about 3.4 years) on the battery rating.

When I stated I was very pleased with it; I actually meant it was something I wanted because it was like the Magpul Bad Lever. To be truthful, I have had issues with it. Like alot of you, my bolt does not lock back on last round. I am using 25 round mags and I have 16 of them! I will be calling Paul from NDZ tomorrow. I have done no further modification to the bolt catch or springs in the mags.

Just a comment: the Magpul BAD lever and the NDZ SBR lever are not the same thing. They serve the same function, but they are not identical. I'm doing testing on the NDZ and cutting the coil on the Bolt release is almost required for 100 percent functioning.

There is nothing you can do to the magazine springs.

I have reinstalled the original SBR and will go to the range tomorrow to see how it performs with the clipped spring. The v2 without the clipped spring gave me a 50 percent failure to lock rate. With the spring clipped I had 100 percent lock back in 50 tries.

BTW, I had a 15 percent failure rate with the stock spring and no SBR, indicating a spring problem in the first place - which is a common complaint with new shooters.

The SBR is the Speed Bolt Release, the BAD is the Battery Assist Device, both allow you to use the bolt release with your trigger finger inside the trigger guard, speeding up letting the bolt go forwards during a mag change.

Additionally, the BAD is designed for the AR15/M16/M4 and the SBR for the 15-22. To use the BAD on a 15-22, bending is required as the bolt release locations are slightly different between the two platforms.
