What Is Your Favorite Gun To Shoot ?

A recent addition to my collection is my Beretta M9. The slide acts like its on roller bearings. It's my favorite semi auto with a Browning HP a close second.

Don't have many revolvers but my favorite is my S&W Model 65, 3" RB. I tuned it while a student at the Smith and Wesson Academy, then bought the gun from them. I only shoot it double action and it is my favorite revolver to shoot. Shoot mostly wadcutters and non +P ammo. No need for .357 magnums.

My Browning HP MKIII 9m/m for a handgun but I've started shooting trap and really enjoy my Remington 1187 Hunter 12 gauge. For a rifle my Rossi M92 20 inch .357 Mag lever action.

That's hard . . .

Probably my M-1 Garand. The Swiss K31 is also a hoot. And I never tire of a 3 to 4-inch S&W K frame .38 spl. I also love shooting .22 rifles, but without about 30 of them, it's hard to chose . . . maybe the Marlin 39.

The gun I shoot the most (at least until about six weeks ago) is my Browning 325 Citori.

My Colt Series 70 (circa 1974) Gold Cup in .45acp. This Pistol probably has more rounds through than any other gun I own since that time. I also believe I shoot this pistol better than any other I own - probably because it's almost part of me now! :D

This. My 40 year old S&W Model 34. She's a 22 so I don't have to reload for her. No recoil and not very loud. She doesn't take up much room. It's easy to take her along anywhere. I can practice both single and double action. At home on the range or on a hike in the woods. Can harvest supper or protect me from the bad guys. Reliable and accurate. Eats anything I feed her.
I could go on.....

I have a bunch of guns I love to shoot. Many different reasons for sure. MY 547 3'', a customized by me model 28 I built up for PPC shooting, a Browning 22SA take down I bought new in the 60s at about age 16. A few others, a very hard choice to make.

With that said I realy like taking out a bolt action 22, its a early Ruger 7722 with a fixed 4 Leupold on it. Gun is very accurate and just a blast to shoot. I describe it as a sporter that thinks its a target rile.

Tough question to answer definitively. I like all of them, even my lowly .40. It's not bad with the more modern ammo.

The only thrill I recall is when I tried out the Colt 10mm in '87 and the 357 sig conversion in my Glock 22. Any more they are all pretty much equal from 22lrs' to 44 mags.

The least is a 7mm mag without padding. Yes, I'm a sissy.

My favorite is my S&W 686 SSR. The pistol has been worked on by Denny Reichard an it's super smooth. I just have a love affair with .357 mag. The sound is "music to my ears !!!.

I enjoy shooting all of my shotguns, rifles and pistols. Since this is manly a pistol site, of my pistols, I did not realize how much I like shooting a model 52 until I recently got one after not owning one since the 70s. Probably my favorite to shoot at paper.

That's an easy one... Hands down my favorite shooter is my SA M-1 Garand. I never get tired of the ping.....

Opps, forgot photo

I own lots of pistols and revolvers but my favorite to shoot is a custom 686 Mountain Gun worked over by Magnaport with 2 cylinders. One uses moon clips in 9x23, 38 Super, and 9x19. The other original cylinder for 357 & 38 Special. The 9mm sees a lot of use because the ammo is very cheap. It is the top one in the attached photo.

Playing Favorites

I would have to say All my Guns are my Favorite to shoot.

All my guns went through a thought process to buy them.
None of my guns were bought on a "Knee Jerk Reaction".

I also Reload for all but of course the 22lr's. That gives me
enjoyment too, along with owning the Guns I do.

Great Thread.

I go through phases when it comes to favorite guns to shoot.

Lately my favorite isn't a handgun but a rifle. My Ruger M77 Hawkeye African chambered in 9,3x62mm gets out to play the most often. Shooting it gives me permagrin. It pushes a 286 grain slug about 2400 ft./sec. The recoil is substantial but very manageable and just a great big shove. Shooting a box of 20 rounds is enough fun for a day. If you hit a football size rock at 100 yards the rock explodes. It is plenty accurate but not a rifle that shoots little tiny groups. Without question it is minute of elk out to 300 yards.

I'm surprised this caliber is not more popular this side of the pond. There isn't an animal you couldn't hunt and handle anywhere in North America with a rifle chambered in 9,3x62mm.

Maybe someday I'll get to take it to Africa and use it as intended but for now I can imagine and continue to blow up rocks.

If it will do that every shot I would like to buy it. I have a 686L, 687L and a 682 Gold E and all 3 have misses in them. :D Larry

I didn't start busting clays until 2018 so I have plenty of misses in me. At the club I shoot at the term for a miss is "410". So when shooting Skeet I hear "410" a lot.

It's hard to pick a favorite but one day I was shooting this German 1937 Sauer & Sohn K98k in between two people shooting Garands. We drew a crowd of old geezers. That might be my favorite moment of the last few years.
