Sig 250 for the dao trigger, in 45 acp. Night sights/laser. 4" python with laser.
A model 28, four inch, with JHPs, in the kitchen drawer. At the top of the stairs behind the rocker is an SD 40 VE, loaded with Golden Sabres. In the spare office, a snub 357 loaded with some FBI stuff of days gone by; in the bedroom,a sweet 16 shotgun auto loader for the wife. Me? I sleep with my 45 pistol and Federals. Life is good.

Boring, but there it is. Model 10-6 loaded with +P 158 grain lead semi-wadcutters.
First line of defense: Ruger. Ruger is a Shepherd/Ridgeback mix. 97# of muscle and solid ivory teeth. Ruger is backed up by M10s stashed in 5 different places loaded with the 158gr SWCHP+p with a speed loader for 6 extra with each revolver. About 15 feet from each door (3) is a coat rack which also conceals a 12 Gauge SXS, loaded with #4 buck and a butt cuff for each with 6 more rounds.
Also available are 2 M4s w/60 round mags upstairs. Figuring that defending the stairs is critical as the safe room is on second floor. Safe room has steel door, with visible walls lined with kevlar in place of insulation backed by 1" rubber backed by 1.5" steel plate. Safe room has everything else, .45 ACP revolvers and 1911 semi autos, Remington 1100s, 870s, 700 .308 and scope, and ammo, fire extinguishers and rope ladder for escape to the ground outside. Door has CCTV into hall and 2 gun ports.

It depends what I carried that day. This time of year I carry the 442, it gets tired from working all day so it sleeps with me (125 grn +P JHP). Or it might be the mod 27 with silver tips. The Remington 1911 stainless gets the nod from time to time too. The hardware is NOT far from my soft pillow.
M&P 45c with a TLR3 loaded with 230gr pdx. and a 442 with golden sabers.
Whatever I carry that day goes on the nightstand. Might be a J frame or an M&P. Kids are grown and gone, so they're not an issue. That said, safety still comes first. Soon as I get up, the piece either goes in the holster or the safe. Never leave a weapon laying around.

Next to the bed is a S&W 25-7 .45 Colt. In the "home office" where I spend a lot of time is a S&W Model 28-2 with a 4-inch barrel. In the kitchen where you'd least expect to look is another 28-2, this one with a 6-inch barrel. But I have to admit that as long as I had the time, the gun I'd reach for is also in the bedroom...an old (1951) Winchester Model 12 factory riot gun, loaded alternately with 00-buck and #4s. There are no children in this house, so all defense guns are easily accessible. There are other guns in the house, but that's enough info for now. As an added bonus for any uninvited guests, there are two fully grown Rottweilers who sleep inside at night. They are light sleepers and have teeth like knives.
First line of defense is 145lb. great dane mix who sleeps at the foot of the bed every night. I think his "woof woof" would send any intruders to another house. Next is a double barrel 20 gauge, followed by a model 686 full of hollow points.

Current bedside gun is a S&W M36 (3" barrel, Crimson Trace laser grips, Hornady Critical Defense 110 grain ammo). There is a S&W 3913 near the front door, a Charter Arms Undercover (148 gr wadcutter) near my recliner, and a Ruger SR9c close by.

Mine is a Model 10 4" HB police trade in loaded with 38 spl +Ps. Keep it in a safe in the nightstand.

We are seeing Home Invasions around this part of Florida on the increase. Mostly at night. Just had one three days ago in the area at 4:00am by three people. Old lady wasted one and wounded the other two with a 12ga. How great. Just be prepared for multiple intruders. I go with an Ed Brown 45 and two spare mags along with a 649 with one speed loader on my side of the bed; and my wife has a 638 on her side with four speed loaders. Also a 870 12ga is within a few feet from me. Not sure if our Yellow Lab would even get up unless the bad guys had some food for him. Alarm system is on at nights as well. If the Bad Guys come in they don't go out in one piece.
