What Is Your Favorite Hymn

Funny you should ask. My dad sang in our church choir and he even started a youth choir....and of course he "drafted" me as his first member even though I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket with a lid on it.

But anyway his fav was In The Garden so as far as personal meaning this one gets my vote. We sang it at his funeral.

But just purely for the music this one...This young lady has some serious pipes. When I hear her sing this it makes my skin tingle...every single time!

I know Amazing Grace has already been mentioned but this is a slightly different version. Originally recorded by Chris Tomlin.
My daughter sang it at my late husband's memorial service, so it will always be super touching to me.

"Hymn 43" - Jethro Tull.

"Amazing Grace" - Bagpipes.

"Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground" - Willie Nelson.

What do you expect from a heathen pantheist?

Merle Haggard said of Albert Brumley Jr. who sang with him on this song,
" ... that old man sure took me to school !"

A fine compliment coming from the Hag!

Yeah, In the Garden. Gets to me, and this might get to you. Was my Mom's favorite long before this however.

Dwight Yoakam at Buck Owens' Funeral - YouTube

WOW! Double WOW!!. I've never been much of a Dwight Yokum fan. But this is the finest I've ever heard him sing. He has a beautiful voice that never seemed to me to come out quite like that. And I never have heard a better performance of that hymn in my like. Gave me goose bumps.
