What is your Go to War Sidearm?

Same here but was in charge of SP people.....:D

Me, too. But they gave me a totally worn out Victory to carry. You had to be careful closing the cylinder. It sort of wobbled. I'm not 100% certain it would have fired if I'd needed to. I'd have preferred a 1911, but O-1's took what the CPO passed out and kept their mouths shut if they were smart. :D

War weapon

Both ARGENTINE SYSTEMA's based on Colt Model 1927, rebuilt with colt parts and Nighthawk barrels. I have plenty of 45Acp in vacuum storage.

well, I have a model 29 4" for my underarm holster, my model 19 4" for my right hip and a j frame for iwb. I have enough ammo to fill many pockets, which will allow me to get to my 12 gauge shotguns which have plenty of OO buck available.
But, here's hoping politicians will prevent me from having to arm up like this in the middle of the continent.

My Go To War sidearm would not be a handgun. It would be my Uzi submachinegun, plus plenty of loaded magazines.

I haven't gone looking for trouble since they quit paying me to. If I had to, I keep a bug out bag with extra mags for the .45 Witness that lives in the nightstand. I was once accused by the former state HS wrestling champ of not "fighting fair" after I had him in cuffs. I told him the city didn't pay me to fight fair, it paid me to win, and today that meant taking his sorry self to jail. I did not accept his request that I remove the cuffs for a rematch.

One of my Hapkido instructors back in the day was a state LEO assigned to dangerous prisoner escort. When I asked him what Hapkido techniques he used to restrain unruly prisoners, he responded his favorite was the baton, used vigourously.

226 Legion...posting the SSE as a space filler. To the conflict I bring the Legion, little lighter. They eat everything and I know how to shoot them fast and well.
They do indeed eat everything. I remember I had some .45 reloads 200 LSWC that were really suitable for a 625 only. The 220 ate it all. An XD 45 had lots of issues and failed to chamber a lot of the rounds. 1911 did a little better. This is a good reason to have a Sig at the end. Glocks also seem to enjoy this but not so much with lead.

Glock 45 (9mm) with Streamlight TLR-8G and Evo-9 suppressor....
A very capable combination. How much velocity increase are you getting suppressed vs. loud and proud?

My favorite baton tactic is '9 from the sky.' 'Three from trhe ring' is for rookies.

I would say an ak47 and any steel frame 9mm,,but I don't have any guns anymore after my boat capsized last year with my whole gun collection going down somewhere off the coast of Florida

A Taurus G3 will get you back into gun ownership for $200 if so desired, and prefer it over the G19 it was cloned from.

If'n it comes my way...
I'll be wearing the same one as today.
It has saw me back to the threshold of my own door for half a century.

Well, this one or one just like it.

For the better part of the last two decades, I kinda keep this'n handy.

Even living the quite country life, it's prudent to be prepared.
When trouble comes a knockin'...All bets are off. Marquess of Queensberry Rules notwithstanding.

Oh,
I cobbled that one up back before the turn of the century.
Back when I was spry and feelin' my oats. ;) :D

I suppose I'm a traditionalist, but I'll take one of my M1911A-1's or my Colt Gunsite Pistol. Over the years I've met several US military veterans, and one IRA veteran, who had occasion to use the 1911 for real and they all spoke well of it.

for a daily civilian encounter it would be a full size glock 17. if it was riot city and a person would be on the move to defend self & family it would be the 17 , 12 ga. pump , + ar 15 and possibly a 22 rifle.

Seeing what is happening in Ukraine, I think I would prefer something along the lines of a Javelin, or one of those Turkish drones, or the small Kamakaze drones. SF VET

Or

the ability to call in an A-10 strike or artillery.

Handguns are a badge of rank and easy to carry for those doing the thinking, and who's primary weapon is the radio, while others are doing the shooting.... but IMHO, for going outside the wire to fight a war.... they just keep you from having to go to a knife... and no one wins a knife fight!

Still remember the quote from the Sam Elliot in "We Were Soldiers" who only carried a Colt 1911 to his war................
