What keeps you awake at night?

This is going to sound corny, but the gal by my side sometimes keeps me up at night. I like watching her sleep, she has this beautiful face that I am so grateful for and can't get enough of. If I really have a hard time going to sleep, I will get up and get my running clothes on. Six or seven miles later, I am ready to drop off. Yes, sometimes it's three in the morning, but if I exercise consistently, I fall and stay asleep, with no help from herbs or medicines.

Thank you for the great advice--I have a great store I go to once in awhile and ill see what they have of these? Im game to trying anything non-medicated.

Any time you start to take ANY new medicines...
Always take the minimum amount to find out what the reaction will be and wait at least 8 hours before taking more.
You may have an allergy? Never take two new medicines at the same time until you know you won't have a reaction from either.
Any time you take two or more different medicines, the chance of a reaction goes up.

I have had trouble sleeping for since my twenty's. It takes forever to fall asleep and then I can't stay asleep. I have nightmares that wake me up screaming. I am 65 years old now and have been taking Trazodone : which is a very old anti depressant for years to help me get to sleep. Nothing seems to stop the nightmares.

My doctor wants me to go see the shrinks at the VA. Not sure I want to have those guys poking around in my head, and losing my right to own a firearm.

So what keeps you awake at night?

Be careful what you say your right about loosing your firearms. I am 66 an also a vet I know what you are going thru had to go to the va shrink when I was in my 20 an 30 good thing they didn't keep good records back than. Things are better now not as often. Sleep nothing helps that. Welcome home brother.

Now, Jack, tell us how you own those cats and not vice versa! ;)

I discovered an interesting thing about cats a while back. If you want to make your cats laugh out loud let 'em hear you say you own 'em.

I know I don't own 'em but they don't read this site so I can act like I do when I'm in here and they'll never know. ;)

I thinks this cat thing must be some kind of feline version of the "Stockholm Syndrome".
