Thank-you for the pictures of the forcing cone I requested.

Here's my take on it. Along with the finish blemishies it has aquired slight flame cutting and cylinder notch peening but the tooling marks have not worn off the forcing cone. It's been shot enough that a reasonable amount of additional magnums or nearly a life time of .44 special equivalents won't devalue it any. Holster wear from unlined holsters, dings from dropping it and rust are another matter but with care you could avoid them. With enough practice whoever winds up owning it could make Elme Keith proud. He would not have let it rot as worthless safe queen.

Good luck with your sale. It should fetch a tidy sum.

You should be ashamed of posting such a nice pic of a BEAUTIFUL revolver. I think it is a fake, and would be GLAD to take it off your hands. Just kidding, ya got a real peach!

I have a friend that found a gold and blue box for a pre 29 a couple of years ago. Inside that box was the paperwork and the "coke" grips. It was given to him by someone who found it in her attic. It had belonged to her deceased husband. We have no idea where the gun itself was. I'm guessing wherever it is it's wearing pachs and is probably beat up. He brought the box, docs, and coke grips to me and asked what it was worth. I told him the best way to find out is put it on GB. The box brought over $400 and the grips brought over $800. I thought the grips were way high but apparently someone wanted them pretty bad. As mentioned before, If I was you, I would use your gun as a savings account and find something else to shoot and carry.
