what optic are you using on you M&P 10?

I normally run Eotech 512's on a couple of my AR's but wish to see what else in red dots folks are using so I ordered a Redfield Counterstrike. I have read glowing reports on it but have not seen feedback from actual users.

I did and I like it! Need to do some 7.62 load development but I have an Eotech 512 on my 5.56 and it made sense to do the same on my M&P 10. Unlikely for me to be able to shoot long distance around here so the fun will be 300 yards or less with the XR308

I picked up my new rifle on Friday...for now I put on a NF 2.5-10 NXS compact scope in a NF 20 MOA Unimount....can't wait to shoot it!

I prefer some middle ground. I have the Trijicon TA11E on top and really like the ability it gives me. I think the 3.5 is about the best all around for me...

+1 That's the way I went on my M&P10 too... not cheap, but good optics never are.

I have the Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP MOA on top of my MP10 with a Vortex Razor reflex sight on a 45 degree cantilever mount for backup/close range.

Mounted a Leupold Mark AR Mod 1 with TMR Firedot Reticle (comes with 5.56 55g turret) on mine with Leupold Mk II 1 piece base. Called Leupold before buying this scope about mounting on .308 platform - then had them make me a new elevation turret for .308 - 168g bullet @ 2550 fps. Cost $50 - had it in my mailbox in 1 1/2 weeks. I love TMR reticles, have them on most of my rifles (except 1 with Mk 4 1.5-5 SPR reticle.)

Got to shoot one of these today with a Leopold VX-II 3-9x40 on a Leopold mount. Elevation cranked all the way and still had to shoot a foot low to hit target. Anybody else have scope issues on their M&P-10? Strapped on some iron sights and they seemed more in the ball park than a foot... Rang the 100 yard gong 10 for 10.

First impression is that the handguard is about the cheapest thing I've ever seen, the gas block is ugly, the flash hider is kinda funky looking on the pencil barrel and it would do well with one of my Mako GL-shock buttstocks. Ambi safety, mag and bolt release are pretty slick. I'm addicted to QD swivel points, which it is sorely lacking.

I totally agree with you! The M&P10 furniture is so cheap, and the gasblocks are soooo ugly. And, what in heck is that ungodly flashider thingy stuck out there on the end of the barrel? Since you don't like yours so much, I'll feel real sorry for you, and take it off your hands for $850.
