What revolver have you had the longest?

Mine is a 2 1/2" model 66 that I bought around 1983 or so. I carried it as a back up and off duty for a number of years, and used it in a shoot out against a hold up man in 1989. I won, he lost. It sat in the property room for about a year before I got it back. I spent ridiculous amounts of money having it engraved when I got it back, and it now holds place of honor in my safe most of the time.

My 629-1 purchased in the early 1980's after reading a review in one of the gun mags. It has accounted for more then a few Michigan whitetails and a lot of paper.

My oldest is a S&W 18-3 I think I bought new in 1978. It isn't going any where till after I am in the ground. Lesson learned as I wished my 27, 29, 60 and 19 were still living with me.

4" nickel mld. 19. Purchased NIB in 1975 for $225.00. Killed a big 8 point buck with it and one of my cast bullets. In 1986 busted the forcing cone while shooting it. Purchased another 4" nickel barrel and swapped it out. Still have it. Don't shoot it much anymore.

Model 60.
Purchased new on 5/11/75 from Jensen's in Tucson for $127.00

My first handgun and the firearm I've had the longest is a Ruger Stainless Security Six in 357 mag/38 special with a 4" barrel. It was manufactured in 1976 and has the "Made in the 200th year of American Liberty" logo stamped on the frame. I purchased it new in 1977, have been the sole owner, and will only get rid of it when I pass down to my son. Funny thing is that I have four sets of grips that I use for it, inculuding the original factory service grips as well as a set of Ruger target grips I just bought from the company last month.

My oldest and longest owned pistol is a Colt SAA in .45 colt. It has a 4"bbl and has the wood grips that Colt put on some of their pistols. I picked it up in 1972, it was made in 1958. Nice gun but I don't shoot it much any more. I like to shoot Smiths.

Longest owned,,a Webley MkVI I think. Had to think about it a while. I sold or traded earlier ones off, this is the earliest handgun purchase I can think of that I've managed to hold on to.
Still in .455, 1918 mfg, and came with the holster and belt & a few loose Kynoch cordite rounds from a guy trolling a gun show w/ it for sale. Said it was his Grandfathers revolver from WW1,,never knew if it was true or not as there's always a story it seems with an old military pistol. IIRC there's a name on the leather somewhere.

I offered him $65 for it. He said he'd think about it and walked around some more. Came back later and asked if I was still interested @ $65. I was. That was in the mid 70's I think.
Most figured I was crazy to spend that for a Webley. I kind of liked them. Still have it so I guess I do.

I shoot it once in a while, no storys of defending against hostiles or anything like that..

A Ruger Blackhawk 4 5/8" .357 mag 3 screw. I bought it new in 1970. (I think it was $69.95) Then in 1972 I just had to have an AR15, so sold it and several other things so I could scrape up the $175 I needed to buy the Colt. Hey, that was a LOT of money back in those days. Anyway, the guy I sold it to was my boss, at the time, and later after I became a cop, I pestered him for several years to buy it back. Finally, one day, I caught him at a weak moment when I happened to have some cash in my pocket and bought it back from him for $100. Never let go of it again. Still in the box with manual AND still in very excellent condition.

I bought a 19-4 in 1977 I believe. Sold it in 1982 or so. I found it in a pawn shop around 1998 & bought it again. It will never leave again. Has smooth rosewood factory grips & all the options except red ramp front insert. I special ordered it! It's still beautiful today! I also have a model 49 Airweight Bodyguard I bought in the mid eighties for &225.00. I've had the disease since I was 22 years old, I'm now 57. This year I bought a 469, three inch 65, & a 4" model 13! Life is good! Oh I forgot the nickel 15 4" made in 1973! It's been a good year!!!0

My first revolver is a model 10 that I bought at a gun shop in 1997 for the princely sum of $100. I asked the dealer if he had any model 10's and one of the salesmen brought out a large cardboard box full of model 10's. Picked what I thought was the best one there. If I'd had known then what I now know I would have bought the whole box. Mine is the HB version but there were a few pencil bbls in there as well. Frank

Smith & Wesson Model 19 4". Bought it from my Dad when I turned 18 and when I moved across the country to Idaho. My Fiance carries it now when we go hiking and I carry my 4" Model 28.

A Pietta version of the Remington New Army that i have cartridge converted to 45 LC that i bought about 2 years ago.

6" Model 57 blued purchased for $331.00 plus tax in 1978. This was list price at a time when Smith & Wesson top end N-Frames, especially Model 29's were commanding black market prices due to the Dirty Harry films.

My grandad bought me a Model 65 when I turned 18. It was my first handgun and is still with me to this day.

Grandad still has his Colt Police Positive that he taught me to shoot with when I was about 10. I've been trying to buy that one off of him for many many years. He says I can have it once he's gone

Bought a model 631 2 inch .32 H&R magnum when they came out around 1990 or so.Slapped a set of ivory medallion grips, a Tyler T, and bobbed the hammer and started carrying it in my right front pocket everyday.

That is where it was in April of 1993 when I was gone to a meeting. While there I found out I had suffered a total loss house fire so every gun I had owned for years, some family heirlooms, and numerous collectible revolvers were now crispy critters.

A side note in appreciation to the National Rifle Association, I had recently gone through a divorce and decided I could not afford renter insurance (Dept. owned residence) so the only insurance I had was what the NRA provided. I was very appreciative of them.

That little .32 mag is now in the safe deposit box at the bank with several friends.
