What S&W's have you NEVER seen in real life?

K32 comes to mind as well. No Registered Magnum. No pre-29.

I've never run across any of the pre-IL PC guns from the late 90s/very early 2000s.

Probably already mentioned but I'd say a Model 17 in factory nickel. I believe there are only 15 known to exist. The last one I heard come to market fetched somewhere around 12 grand.

I wouldn't call myself knowledgeable but, I've never seen a Post Office/Coast Guard
model 45 nor the elusive model 16.

Never seen....

Lots of great replies, so I will go a different direction.....
Two I would like to see and own 610 10mm revolver and S&W500
Bone collector edition. Just me lovin' big bores!

A Model 44. 9mm single action.

CORRECTION: I did "see" one once in Tulsa in about 1998 but I did not get a chance to fondle it. It sold from one member to another in a matter of minutes. I didn't know how much is sold for.

I've never seen a factory engraved S&W revolver. Always wondered it looks super or cheesy.

Model 23. A while back I started a thread to see if anyone had ever seen one with the hope of stopping the use of the silly "pre-model" label if the model 23 was never produced. No pictures, except one great photoshop job with the model stamp in Times Roman, some reported sightings, but really nada.

I have a Model 48 in a .22 M.R.F. CTG. It has a six inch barrel and is louder than my P220 .45 ACP. It has verified birthday of 1959.

I have never see a S&W 22 jet.
Bob

They are really something to see. Especially with a long 'runway' barrel in nickel. :D

enjoy,

bdGreen

I have been to Tulsa many times and have been fortunate enough to see many of the elusive models mentioned here. One that has escaped me in particular is a model marked 26. I look forward to next weekend to seeing all the things I'll never have.:)

And also the M&P in .32 Long, which is in the same uncommon league as the .22 M&P.

I saw one of these about 1975 that was for sale for $65. I didn't buy it because it had a rust spot (probably blood) on the cylinder. I had no idea they were so rare at the time. I do believe most of these guns went to Europe.

I have never seen a M44 (single action M39) nor an early NICKEL 5" 44 Magnum.

I admit I'm ignorant on some s&w and colt models. I usually see something and don't have a clue as to what it is. Then I go home and search the net or ask here.

My LGS pulls out a nice s&w 38/44 with a 4" barrel for $800. I didn't have any idea what I was looking at. I felt stupid. I was picking up my m27-2 in nickel I just purchased.

I usually see them in person first. There's turn of the century stuff, pre war, post war, 40's 50's, 60's, 70's, etc. I'm into so many different guns it's hard to focus on one brand. I'm just not into all of them.
