what size case?

M&P15-22 - A1 Style Comp is almost here and i will need a range bag. 33.75" Extended/30.5" Collapsed are the sizes listed for the gun - but what size case should i get? will it fit in a 32" case? or should something larger be used?

Always get a case longer than the length of the rifle. With accessories on it will take up more space, and it's better to have a few extra inches* than to always struggle getting the zipper closed. 42" cases have worked well for my carbines, but I like to keep the stocks extended.

i am using a Bulldog Discreet . if you don't mind breaking it down in half. Its on sale at optic planet so i bought 2. one for my 223 AR. my 2 issues are: they only come in one color, and i am running out of places to put mags. i only have 6 right now, but plan to get more.

I have a 33" length case. It's just right when the rifle is fully collapsed with 1-1.5" of play.

i'm using a 38" case (fixed stock). just remember the measurements on the case are usually taken from the outside, so you lose an inch or so on the interior.

Be careful, I have a Bulldog 36 inch case that only holds a 33 inch gun... go figure.

33 inches is long enough with the stock collapsed. A true 36 would fit with the stock open very nicely.

a lot of companies give out outer dimensions. mine is a 29" case, but on their site they say its 27" inside.

mainly because i had amazon gift certificate to use. nice case - esp. for $30 overnighted to me. much cheaper than those from the LGS and it fits my current needs very well since i am mostly transporting to the local range.

the funny thing is the box amazon shipped it in is about 5' long - 4' wide and had to cost more than the case to ship...

Thinking of buying the 40" NcSTAR case, their out of the 36" ones at amazon right now. The 40" will allow to put some accessories in it.
