my smith 29-4 in nickle has a couple of small spots that have a dull finish where it should be shiney. what do you use to hand buff out small scratches and to shine up dull spots without messing up the nickle finish?

I never rub on my nickel, but you should use the finest polish available. You could try the auto store for the "clearcoat safe" polish which is about as abrasive as cottage cheese. Use a soft cotton cloth like an old T shirt or the cloth will scratch it.

Make sure it's not a place where the nickel has rubbed off and you are seeing the bare steel. You don't want to rub on those.

i've been using flitz all metal polish and their microfiber cloth. apply a small amount with a paper towel grab the cloth and use the good ole wax on wax off method.

I agree with using this product. This has been the best polish that i ever used.
