What unusual/nonstandard calibers do you load?

25 Remington for a Model 8 Remington. Ammunition has been out of production since the 50s.

Good morning
I have been about reloading al my life as my dad was a reloader so..
.685 round ball in my Fox B Toyota stopper
44-77 in a Remington Roller
50-70 in 3 differen rifles
50-45 in 2 Rem Roller pistols
45-60 in a 1876 Win of 1883 vintage
38-50 in a Marlin-Ballard from 1873
44 Russian in numerous old S&W´s
41 Colt in a 1889 double action Colt
30 Mauser in 3 Broomhandles
414 Supermag in a Dan Wesson, 14" Contender & soon a 336 Marlin
45 Win Mag in a 10" Contender barrel
All with cast bullets as lead is free and molds will always be a good investment. Sadly these are all in storage while I am in Peru.

8mm Lebel rifle, 7.7x58 mm, .455 are the strangest, all the rest are everyday calibers.

The .41spl is the only odd ball I load. It isn't much of an odd ball when Starline makes the proper brass and standard .41mag dies will load it perfectly, as long as you stay away from RCBS brand.

What do you find wrong with the RCBS dies?

Too long to crimp .41spl........................

Have you tried the separate crimp die? I use those for .44
and they crimp the special just fine. I have both the "profile"
which is the roll crimp and the taper crimp for non cannellured
plated bullets. Both work great. Recommended.

RCBS .41mag die will not crimp .41spl. If you don't believe me check it or ask anyone who has. You can shorten the crimp die. I'd rather not.

The oddest I have loaded probably would be a .22 Long Snapper, which is on the .22 Hornet case. Basically, it's a centerfire .22 WRFM - a pernickety little fellow that will point out the differences to you between Winchester and Remington Hornet brass, if you are unaware of such things. The "Long" and the "Short" Snappers were designed by Bob Snapp and used in K22s and small single shot rifles. My own example is a Bowenized Model 60.

My only forays into non-standard rifle stuff:
.338/.378 Weatherby (not the sissified little OKH version :p - the real deal, about 10-years before Weatherby thought it worth standardizing)
.460 G&A (also a nitpicker about what brand of brass is used)

I also still load a few "less odd" pistol rounds - .25/20 Winchester, .221 Fireball, and last but not least, the ever-popular .357/44 Bain-Davis. ;)

My sincere apologies for stirring the waters. As it turns out
my crimp dies are Redding not RCBS. I have always liked
their TiC carbide dies better than the tungsten most others use.
Looks like we are on the same page after all :)

The most unique load I have loaded would have to be a request of a freinds daughter after he past away she wanted 12 and 20 ga loads with "DAD" inside he was cremated she gave me some of the ashes I did what I was asked she then gave the loads out to his hunting freinds to place where they remembered Dad on there hunting trips so Dad was still hunting with them.

I'm trying desperately to find some or any reloading info on the .338x74K. Just inherited one and would love to shoot it, but only have two dummy rounds (loaded with 275 gr. bullets and no primers) and a two-die set. No brass, no info on powder, etc. Any help would be a miracle.

If your talking the 338x74 Keith, it is made from the german 9.3x74R cartridge. I believe Ruger chambered the no.1 rifle for it at one time. If you have a copy of Gun Notes Vol 2 it is on page 11. Clymer made the reamer and Huntington(RCBS) made the dies.
Data:
Nosler 250 gr, 76 gr 4831, CCI 250 mag primer- 2711 fps
Speer 275 gr, 74 gr 4831, CCI 250 mag primer - 2580 fps
Win 300 gr , 72 gr 4831, CCI 250 - 2552 fps
Win 300 gr, 73 gr Norma 205, CCI 250 -2579 fps

This is Keiths original data published in 1971, use at your discretion. I believe the 9.3x74R is a currently produced cartridge, you should be able to find brass for it.

I load the 9.3x74R and Hornady makes decent brass for it.

Norma is usually available too but more expensive and alot of shooters say it's softer(?) than Hornady. I've never used it so I can't say.

Yours is probably just a necked down version w/a blown out case. EK seemed to really like the .338 cal.

Do a search on the caliber and you'll find some info including loads.
It's a rimmed case so fire forming after neckdown to .338 is easy.

7mmIHMSA which is a 300 Savage necked down to 7mm used mstly in Rem XP-100's for silhoutte shooting back in the early 80's before the 7MMBR came around

I load for the following. 44-40win 38-40win 32-20win 25-20win 38-56win 38-55win 32-40 win 25-35win 32 spec.win 30-30win.
