What was the last movie you saw, and did you like it?

Well,I did convert 2 of three in the UK-and Europe-on giving Fury a chance. The one who refuses to give it a try-is Dutch.

Anyway, yesterday I saw parts of: The Green Berets, We Were Soldiers, and all of: Pride of the Marines as well as The Fighting Sullivans.

I saw Saint Vincent and really enjoyed it. The theater was 2/3 full and when the credits started Bill Murray was singing along to Bob Dylan's Shelter form the Storm . Not a soul moved. Finally a young couple left when the lyrics were over, the rest of us stayed until the song was done as the screen went black. I usually stay until the credits show where it was filmed but this was a first for us as we are usually the last ones in the theater.

The Fighting Sullivan's one of my all time favorites and it is just fantastic that they are still honored yet today by a ship carrying their name! ;)
That just played on TCM for Veterans Day but that is one movie I own a copy of.

I saw it then too.I dont own a copy yet--but wb.com sells it and ill buy it sometime soon. Thomas Mitchell was great as their dad--and Ward Bond great as their navy "contact."

I thght it really a great line from Mitchell--after they were informed of all five being killed: He hears the toot from the train he works on and says something like: "Ive never missed a day of work in 35 years."

The current: The Sullivans-is the 2nd ship named after them.

We started watching Lonesome Dove, it's actually a mini series but it's nice to watch.

And last weekend we watched The Burbs :)

Watched Evil Roy Slade last night. Was hilarious...sometimes it was cringe worthy silly, but funny. (Like Nacho Libre. :D)

Would recommend if you want a funny non thinking movie that's kid friendly as well.

The scene where he tries to sell the lady some shoes is great.

"The Exorcist" in 1973. Scared the hell outta me!

Just kidding although it did scare me. Last one I watched was "Lone Survivor" and yes I liked it.

Thanks for the reminder (Sniper) I havent seen it yert but will buy the dvd soon as released. I sure wish they would make a sniper movie about Carlos Hathcock. Too bad that Chuck Norris would be too old to play Carlos when he was in Vietnam. :-))

They showed "Kelly's Heroes" twice yesterday on a local channel. I watched it both times. What a great movie! I haven't seen it in many years and had forgotten most of it.

Gotta find it on DVD now, so I can watch again without the commercials.

Went to Spokane earlier this week to help my son get ready for his next deployment and he rented "Chef" and "Silver Lining Playbook". I enjoyed both but the latter brought the issue of mental illness into a new perspective for me.

Around here--WM always carries Kellys Heroes and usually in their $5 dollar or less bins.

Last movie seen tyhat I liked: Big Jake w/John Wayne,PatrickWayne, Maureen O'Hara,Richard Boone, Christopher Mitchum, John Agar & John Doucette & the guy who played Colonel Crittenden on Hogans Heroes (all briefly) Hank Wordon, Gregg Palmer and others--WHATS not to like about that movie.

One of the last movies made by the late Paul Walker before his untimely death was Brick Mansions. The story was so so but the action was special, almost to the point of The Matrix. Some of the stunts were so good and ORIGINAL that I watched it again. He was a great action guy. Didn't have the rippling muscles like Vin Diesel or Arnie or The Rock but he was fast and he had the moves. He was also a much better actor than some of the muscle heads.

While we're on the subject of action figures I like Jason Stratham A LOT. He too is unimpressive in his appearance but He can really pass out the pain. He too is fast and has the moves. I recently saw Home Front and some of the things he did in this movie were over and above the call of spectacularness (I'm makin' that a word. :) ) If you like a great get-even movie about a guy that just wants to mind his own business but the powers that be keep pushing him until the realize their mistake, if they have time that is check out Home Front. You won't be disappointed, I promise.

a couple of great get-even movies are Charles Bronson's Mr. Majestyc the lowly watermelon farmer that just wanted to pick his melons and be left alone and An Innocent Man with Tom Seleck. The cops out on a drug raid hit the wrong address and the slightly dorky and nerdy hero (SELECK) was brutalized and the cops, realizing their mistake planted drugs on him and he went to prison. When he got out he wasn't very dorky or nerdy any more. :D
