Yessr, I got that one and "Guns, Bullet & Gunfights". I did 26 yrs as a SE Texas street cop, Sergeant, and Detective, and have always been an NYPD buff. My hats off to all of you on here!!

Yeah, Rich, I have one of your books in my "shopping cart" with Amazon right now. David, "dabney" has talked me into the Enfield book over on another thread, and while I was looking at it I saw a book on Webleys as well. I haven't hit the one click order button yet, waiting to see what else you guys are going to talk me into...might as well get it all at one time!!!

There we go, while I was typing this, just saw the above posts!!! Couple more to buy now....

The late Jim Cirillo is the man whose shooting method I use. Of all the shooting methods taught out there, Mr. Cirillo's method is the one that makes most sense to me.

I've never been in law enforcement, never saw combat during my military career despite Desert Storm (was awaiting a security clearance while the war came and went), but I have great respect for the man that was Jim Cirillo and his career.

I was just practicing his method at the range a couple weeks back, and at typical combat distances I do well.

Fairbairn, Sykes, Col. Appelgate, Bill Jordan, the list of highly skilled masters of shooting goes on, but of them all, I find Mr. Cirillo's methods to be the best, at least the one I find most suitable.

That rangemaster sounds just like the NYPD Firearms Unit boss,Lt Frank Mcgee.
He was there when I entered the Dept and was there when I left.

He was not a shooter and often had big disagreements with "shooters" under his command.

Jimmy Cirillo was a Firearms Unit instructor before the Stake Out Unit was formed and was one of the "shooters"often in disagreements with Lt Mcgee.

My final year of service was at the Firearms Unit under Lt Mcgee.

The Marine Corp taught me to shoot proficiently;in the NYPD I honed those skills.
