What will be your first gun of 2012?

Made a deposit on a 4" M19-3 at my LGS a couple weeks ago. I plan on bringing that lil' sweetie home in about 3 weeks from now...:D

Don't know. I buy most of my guns at local gun shows.

I buy whatever strikes my fancy at the time. First show in my area is not until the middle of January.

Happy Hunting.

Well, I made it all the way to the 21st of January. Went to a local show and my wife told me to pick up something I thought she might like; so here it is!!

I screwed up and went to the Ruger website and saw the new LCR in 22 cal. Might have to get me one of thoses.

If I'm lucky there'll be a Model 39 variety I don't have (that covers considerable ground) at the Odessa, TX gun show in late Jan.

Now that sounds cool. I've always liked the 39s, but never got one. Maybe a cherry, blued 39-2...

Going for a 28-2 in 4 inch, or a 29-2 with 6 1/2 inch bbl. Or any S&W 3inch bbl revolver that strikes my fancy. Looking at a 19-4 snubbie also right now. Might be my last gun purchase of 2011.

Badkarma. Forgett the Walther P1 and go for the real thing the Walther P38.
The P1 is a weak aluminium pistol wich I have seen ripped and broken to many times.

If a little random chance goes in my favor (because nice firearms have a difficult time finding their way to Alaska), I will cross off two weapons from the list, and they're ones I've wanted for a really long time.

A S&W 5946, and an Ithaca 37. :D

I like the 617 a bunch.10 shots and stainless, what's not to like? Yet my taste go for older stuff.:)

Stick with the K-22. Lighter, better balance. I have a 17-2 K-22 Masterpiece that belonged to my father. Been shooting it since I was a kid.
I had a 10 shot 617 and never really warmed up to it plus that 10 shot cylinder just didn't look right. I had to let someone else have it.

If that was a weak attempt to get me to sell you mine, you can fugetaboutit.

:D:D:D:D:D

No,I'd never ask someone to sell something that means so much. Please keep that one and pass it along one day.
It was an inside poke at someone that has one he'd like to sell me.I hope he's watching.:p

My tax stamp should be here in jan. so my first one for 2012 will be a 6" ar-15 sbr.

I am looking for several guns. Which ever I find first will be the one I buy first.

It could be and in no certain order:
Remington 1100 in 20 ga.
Stevens double barrel 410.
S&W 29 snubbie.
Model 59 S&W.

I have six carry guns so I guess I will be picking up something for the seventh day of the week. I really like the 442 or the 638. Probably go with the 638 as I like the ability to shoot single action if I choose. I have the 637 but the hammer makes it tough to carry in the pocket. All my others are semi automatic.

I just bought an old Colt Pocket Positive from 1910. I have send the paperwork to the police. So I have to wait a couple weeks that I gonna get this tiny revolver.
It is in a very difficult caliber .32Colt.
The revolver is in a very reassoneble condition and I added it to my collection.
When I have the revolver I shall place some pics.

I completed the deal on a two gun and ammo package. First, I was mainly after the Puma M92 w/24" 357 octagon barrel that we could not agree on price. He included a 686-3, in excellent condition and 2 boxes of .357 ammo. Deal maker. I was thinking I could sale or trade off the 686, since I already have a -4, but after shooting it then cleaning it up, it will stay in my herd of S&W 357's. The -3 is the one with Uncle Mike's grips. I have targets grips on the way for it.

Looking now, haven't decided what manufactor it will be but its gonna be a lever action .45LC rifle w/octagon barrel to go along with my .45LC 5 1/2" & 7 1/2" western revolvers.
Leaning towards a lever action Marlin as I have quite a few in other calibers and love them.

looks like the first two will be older high standards.

I didn't plan on anything soon, but found a really nice condition well cared for T/C Patriot pistol in 45 cal the day after New Year's for what I thought was a reasonable price (under $200). So it had to come home. It was one of those things I had wanted for a long time, since I was in college some 30 years ago actually when buying one was out of the question, much like a Ruger Old Army, but never got around to getting so it was a welcome find. Hope to try it out soon.

I have 5 handguns dating back to the 60's and 70's, all in fine condition and I shoot them regularly. I updated with 4 more last year but there's no way I'll buy any more. Well, maybe just one....the used 64 en route to my LGS will round me off to 10, but that's it, period, no more!! And I know, I know, there are those of you who have more than 10 on one shelf of your safe. Look at what belonging to this forum does to you.

Well, my first 2012 gun was purchased today.

I have been struggling with the decision about another carry gun to augment my 642. I carry the 642 almost every minute of the day (it's in my Renegade ankle holster now) but there are a few, very few, times even it is inconvenient.

For example, when I am shooting a trap competition (yeah, I know, I've got a 12 gauge in my hands) I take it off and leave it in the car. Too much other stuff on me, extra shells, glasses wipes, a paper towel to wipe my snotty nose, etc.

I looked at the Beretta Nano, LC9 and even considered, for a few seconds, the Kimber Solo. But, I came to the conclusion that these were just like the 642 and I would be just as well off with it.

I wanted something small. I used to carry a North American 22 short on a piece of monofilament hooked on my beeper and shoved inside my pants. It worked, but who carries beepers anymore? And I can't hardly turn my I-Phone on, so I am not encumbering it with monofilament.

So, I got the Ruger LCP, nickel engraved slide (rust prevention) and ordered a VersaCarry IWB (shorts and T-shirt), DeSantis Superfly (cargo pants) and, of course, a Renegade ankle holster (anytime I have long pants on). Also got an extra mag and the Crimson Trace Laser set up.

So, I finally bought a new gun, and finally (or maybe for the first time) it wasn't an impulse buy.

Rain is coming tomorrow, so it's off to the indoor range to break it in with the 225 rounds of ammo I bought, too.

I feel a little light in the wallet.

Got the fever for a Baby Browning and purchased a real nice blue one from a foum member. The next day, went to a gun show, saw a Baby Browning Nickel in mint condition and just had to have it. A shortage of cash caused me to trade one of my J frames.
