What would I give...

Keep the old pictures, they are views of the past that you can hold and pass on. I write on each one who, what, when, & where. That way the info is not forgotten. Do have some images from the late 1800's/early 1900's that I know are family members, but exactly who, I am not sure.

I do have one that I like alot. It is five generations of my family sitting together. My Great Aunt, my Mother, my wife & I, our daughter and the oldest two of her children. Not often that you can get pictures like that.

I too was a 1.5-sets of grandparents lad, my Mom's father having died from asthma when she was a teenager. I think my widowed Grandmother did a lot to make up for that, but of course how would I know? I do know she was a wonderful lady. She had to work to support herself, but she made time for my brother and me on the weekends. She left this world within a month of my high school graduation… needless to say, way too soon.

The last time I was alone with my paternal grandmother I took her out to dinner. To a nice restaurant. While there she complained about the cost of the food(but she sure ate it). She also saw two Baltimore Colt Football players (Johnny Unitas and I think Ray Donovan) She got up and went over to talk to 'em..next thing she's wagging her finger at them. I had to go over and pry her off of them. They were very gracious though. When they left they dropped a little note for her on our table with their autographs. Had to be 1966. She had to be about 80. Saw her some after wards but not as often as I should. That was a neat remembrance for her and esp for me. She was sharp as a tack to her last day at 89
