I just purchased an early k22 no model number inside crane on frame.. Serial no. on cylinder and frame match.
K 1529xx
Is it safe to fire high velocity rounds or should I use standard velocity ?

With a four-line address stamp, it's 1948 or later. Without a model number stamped under the yoke, it's 1958 or earlier. If those stocks are original to the gun, that would indicate production in 1950 or later. Without a serial number (or at least the first half of it), that's about as close as anyone can get from a photo.

Your gun can handle any .22 ammo you can find. A common complaint is that high velocity ammo is hard to eject after firing. There are several theories for this, but a diet of medium velocity or target ammo solves the problem completely. If you want an excuse to spend more time with your new gun (cleaning), you can shoot .22 longs or shorts as well as long rifles. That gun will provide more fun that any you've ever owned. I guarantee it.
