Finally got power back Sunday night, after 6 days. Internet service just came back on. I feel real bad for the 100's of thousands of folks still without power, and a new storm heading this way.
All in all, what I went through was nothing compared to the misery being endured by others, everything in perspective.
Thanks be to God, my family and I were spared from serious injury or death. Some 100 people died as a result of this storm, including an 11 and 13 yo who died a few miles away from here when a large tree fell on their house. :(
It's good to be alive, AND back.
Everyone behaving? ;)

Welcome back, and glad to see you and family are safe.

Just mailed in a donation to the Salvation Army, I am sure it will get to NJ and NY. The Yankees still;)

I'm glad to see you back Mike, and moreover that everyone in the family is OK. From what I can see happened back there it is much worse than Katrina. Keep the hatches battened down tonight, too, I here there's another one on the way.

Other than the Gorilla deleting some attempted political threads you have not missed much.;)

There you ARE! I thought you mighta washed out to sea! It's good to see you back, safe and sound. Prayers are answered...

Blessings,
Hog

Probably the single most momentous thread during your absence was started by Cajun Lawyer, and concerned cooking lettuce --- it kept many of us on the edge of our seats for hours!

Meh. Maybe if cooking lettuce is a venture into the unknown. For those of us who have cooked lettuce before, it was no biggie. (yawn)

Welcome back and glad to hear you got through the Big Storm without injury to the old hide and that your family is doing OK, too. Recovery will take a long time but New Yorkers have a unique approach to everything they do and they will put their can-do attitude into rebuilding things better than before. This may not apply to the Yankees.... :D

Let's see, there were a few gun purchases, some with pictures. There were a few guns listed for sale, some sold, some didn't. We all prayed for those in the storm's path. Since your back, looks like that worked. Really, nothing much.

Ladder 13,
I am truly glad you and your family are safe and warm again.

Mike ... Good to hear from you and learn that yourself and the family have made it through in decent shape. These are the types of situations where a person realizes what's important in life, and appreciates the real things that matter.

Godspeed my friend.
