What's included with a slide assembly 1006? I've contacted both S&W and Midway customer service but neither were able to tell me what's included with it exactly-they just said it comes directly from S&W when they get it. All I have to go off of is below. Has anyone ordered this before and if so-what did you get (sights/springs/etc)?

Unless it says, "1006 slide, complete," you're likely only getting the bare slide - meaning sans the firing pin, spring, extractor, and likely the decock lever and any other slide internal parts.

I wouldn't expect it to come with sights unless the product description says so. ... As always: 'buyer beware.'

I would call that NUTS, and as to what you pictured in the other thread, I don't think you should replace the slide.

What I will guess happened:

Primers leaked and flame cut the breech face. And why would the primers leak? Over-hot loads, likely far over pressure loads. Or perhaps just a single instance of an over pressure round.

I believe the slide you have with the small pits is likely fine.

I would take a long hard look at the barrel and the locking lug, and on the frame where the cocked hammer makes contact with it.

Before panic buying parts that might not fix the problem or even fit correctly, I'd contact member BMCM via PM and solicit his opinion. I don't have his email off hand, but he will provide it to you.

He is the go to guy for 3rd Gen issues. Search through this forum for some examples of his handiwork. He's done 40S&W to 10mm conversions and knows the 3rd Gen inside out.

Since S&W says they have them in stock, I would contact S&W regarding this pistol, they may want to inspect it and replace anything that is broken or dangerous.

From the photos you posted elsewhere, there's nothing wrong with your pistol. Replacing the slide for what amounts to nothing more than a little cosmetic wear is pennywise and pound foolish. Wear like that is normal on any handgun firing a high intensity cartridge like the 10mm, much like forcing cone wear on a magnum revolver.

I bought a conversion kit to conjert a Ruger LC380 to 9mm and it came assembled even with a new Magazine. Don't really know about the 1006 slide but read the order closely.

After thinking about it-I'd like to have two slides as to cerakote one and keep the other one original. Thanks all
For the help!
