What's the best color wood for a stainless revolver grips?

I have a pair of stainless Ruger Blackhawks I use for CAS with white micarta grips. I like the look. It is also a good bit more durable than other 'white' stocks.

S&Ws just seem to look right with factory cocobolo though.

a picture Keith sent to me. And yes, i ordered a set to be made for my 3" model 66. English walnut- presentation grade.

I like light stocks on dark guns and dark stocks on guns that throw back a lot of light.

Always wondered why Hogue didn't offer Ebony in their hardwood MonoGrip. I've heard ebony is too naturally oily and doesn't glue well. I think it would look smashing on a stainless revolver.

I've got smooth Secret Service grips made by Eagle Grips in Gabon ebony on my 638, and I really love the black wood on the stainless gun.
