I've been wanting to purchase an MP22 compact for about 14 months now. It seems that most of the other S&W items are back, but not the MP22C is nowhere to be found. Is it discontinued?

No, it is not discontinued.
Keep looking.
We have them locally in Bass Shop Pro.

Are you decided to buy it? I was last year, but after few months found MP22C not as good .22LR as expected. I'm switching to something else, Either TX22 or GSG922.
MP22C doesn't feel as a handgun, it is more like plastic toy.

Hopefully I won't be punished here for my opinion ;)

No, mine while a reliable shooter is kind of dinky and not as useful as I expected. Friends' G44s are similar.
I thought about a full size MP 22 but saw a guy having all manner of trouble with his a couple of weeks ago.

I love mine. Size is perfect for a fun plinker.

The only issue is the goofy rear sight blade. I replaced mine with Dawson Precision sights.

My full size .22 has given me o problems through thousands of rounds. It just needs to be cleaned periodically as with any .22 semi-auto.

It is the perfect training gun for my full size M&P's as it is dimensionally the same. I use it as a transition trainer to bring new shooters from .22 to a .380 EZ then my full size 9mm.

When I was looking for a 22, I tried the compact, didn't like it. Bought the full size & like it. Comparing the two is like comparing my Shield Plus to my 5" Pro. While the Shield is good for its primary purpose, because of its smaller size its not a fun gun to shoot. The Pro is fun. Full size guns fit my hand better and more comfortably - therefore funner!

G44 is so cool. At $369 plus tax, why doesn't everybody have one?

I bought the full size while they were still available and love it. The compact seemed too small for me. This one feels the same as my M&P 9 and 40. Bought a TX22 Competition and added a FastfireIII to it. Both shoot great but do require high velocity ammo.

I see the 22C locally pretty often. Just saw one last week in the gun case at my favorite shop for $429.

They've been getting the M&P 22 C at my LGS pretty regularly. Traded my G44 in for one a few weeks ago and love it. My LGS told me their S&W rep said they slowed production on them to focus on 9mms and the new Shield but started ramping up production late summer.
