I check in on this show occasionally and don’t know if any treasure has been found since I last watched. I like modern treasure hunting shows like those metal detector guys and this one is OK. But after a few years I think the real treasure of the island is the advertising revenue generated by the show itself. The narator cracks me up because it’s always questions that are never answered to make it sound exciting like, “COULD it be the secret treasure chamber?!”. “Could it be this or that?!”. I wonder if there’s going to be an island left by the time they’re done.

One of the MOST boring of things I’ve ever seen on the boob tube. “Let’s dig a hole....okay, now, let’s dig another hole...”.

I've had more enjoyment watching my dogs dig holes in the dirt. Seriously. And I don't have to pay a cable company to watch them, either.

Sorta like most episodes of the fishing for monsters show, whatever that thing is called.

I've never understood the fascination with shows about fishing. I don't have a thing against fishing, but the TV shows about it bore me to death. There was one show on Nat Geo showing some guy fishing for weird fish in city canals and park ponds or something. Don't think that one lasted a whole season. That "Wicked Tuna" thing is another one. There's only so many ways you can show a tuna getting harpooned or a fat guy with dreads jumping up and down on the deck.

Is there REALLY a "money Pit?"

I don't think there is a treasure there...the only treasure is the money the two brothers are making off the show...this thing has been going on for several years...come on now...stop and think about it...as long as the treasure is not found the show goes on and on and on ad finitum...I've got better things to do than watch this...

Saw a same network/production team show about tapping into the earths own electrical grid. They had a cheesy soundstage made to look like an outdoor location (real bad lighting) and proceeded to drive some special metal rods into the ground then connecting them to a 1950’s looking franken machine. Anyway when they threw the switch there were some omg’s and oh no’s then an explosion just for the camera. It was hilarious, would love to see it again

"MAY"

The key word in many of these shows is "may." Shows hunting for great treasures or the solution to great mysteries are such that the event would have made the news and you would have heard about it before someone made a TV show out of it if the treasure had been found or the mystery solve beyond doubt.

So, If the explorers and hunters "may" have found this or that, I know in advance that the show is a waste of time.

What bothers me about the Oaks is how many different groups visited there?
For a pretty obscure little island sited where there are hundreds maybe thousands of islands, everybody from the Phoenicians to the Templar’s have supposedly been there.
Really?

I watched it the first season, I watch it every once in a while, they find a little piece of wood and they get all excided and send it out for carbon
dating, give me a break. [emoji46]

People have been hacking away at that poor hole for a hundred years. There is nothing there, and there never has been anything there. It is probably just a natural sinkhole.

There is no historical evidence any pirate ever buried any treasure. Not just on Oak Island - anywhere. Why would they? They had a crew to pay and operating expenses - like grog, wenches, parrot feed, and wooden legs.

Any gold ever found during the various searches was planted there by nearly bankrupt diggers trying to keep investors investing.

They have spent enough time and money to have dug the whole island up and made a huge crater in the Atlantic Ocean. Totally bogus nonsense IMO.

"COULD IT BE?????" It comes on and my wife suddenly gets tired and goes to bed! lol It's sad when there isn't much else on in the time slot I feel like watching. I really be amazed if they found anything!

I enjoy watching it but I honestly don't think they will ever find anything of real value just enough to keep the show running another season. If anything was buried 100+ feet deep it's long since been destroyed by water damage.
The new show, that Marty has a part in, Civil War Gold will be the same.
