I'm looking to fill gaps in my pile o' iron with an early (pre-1955) 1950 Model K frame .22 Target and an N frame .38/44 Outdoorsman. I have examples of the 1950 Model Heavy Duty, .357 Magnum, .44 Military, and .44 Target. Not familiar with K's though. Suggestions?

The 4" Combat Masterpiece was out in 1950 so you have your choice of 4" or the narrow rib 6",
Satin blue was std until around 54-55 but bright blue was an optional upgrade.

IIRC The wider rib 6" K22 might have been advertised in the 1950 AMC but have never seen one that shipped before 1954-55.

My favorite 1950 N-frame target revolver is this 1950 44 Target shipped in November 1955 to Evaluators Ltd., Quantico, VA. It letters with a bright blue finish, scarce 4-inch barrel, target hammer and trigger, red ramp, white outline rear sight, and smooth Magna stocks made of rosewood. It came it its original box with papers and accessories. It is a near new example. Click on the photo for a better look.

OK, I don't own anything from 1950 so I'm adopting this one as my favorite. Wow.

As a member of the S&WCA, you can request the shipping date of your S&W from Roy Jinks. He will provide you the month and year it shipped.
