Whats your favorite .357 mag Smith?

Another vote for a Mod 27, in this case a -2 with a 5 inch bbl.
Get an older N frame S&W and see if it doesn't become your favorite.

I own 7 S&W 357s and I have likes for them all depending on the competition that I am shooting. but this is my most recent purchase. when I saw it I had to have it.

No question here: S&W 586. The hardest descion is 4" or 6"

Any K frame magnum. I have a sweet spot for the K frame in general, but there's just something about the 19 and 66.

You made me think

. I cannot pick just one favorite.

If I was forced to grab one 357 and run for the door, it would be my 4" nickel model 27.
It will do everything any K or L frame will do and more. Shoot full power 170 grainers with no problem.
Shoot 38 wadcutters into 1" group at 25 yards and honestly, it's not much larger than an L frame.

I most often carry my 3" model 13 loaded with Glasers or 100gr. power ball.

The Combat Magnum. The 6" model 19. The 2 1/2" 19-5.

The 686 snubby. The 681pc .

The Highway Patrolman. All the model 27s.

Can't just pick one. Good luck , ,AL

A 4" Model 28 Highway Patrolman. I bought new in the '70s. I should have never sold that revolver.

Although I love my 8.75" RM and my pre 27 3.5"ers (a nickle and a blued) and a pre 28, along with all of my 27's, 28's, 13's, 19's, 66's, and a few of my 65's, my favorite "GO TO" gun is my all-business 3" P&R model 65-2 with Ahrends FG's:

Since you asked ... Here's my modified / customized ? 28-2. Great shooter and had the "it" factor as well.

My 4" 586-3. Best all around 357 by any company, any time, any where.

Strong enough for real 357s, great balance and the quintessential K frame grip.

Owned Smith 357s since 1970 and the 586 4" is the best of show...

My favorite is my 28-2. I picked it up cheap and had it worked on. Shoots like a dream. Used to belong to a PD just haven't found out which one yet. Has a number on the left side under the cylinder similiar to Texas DPS but already coresponded with them and they say it was not on of theirs. So that is my pick of the ones I have.
