I'm kinda partial to my Model 19-3, vintage 1975. Beautiful as hell and a trigger like butter. And it's a tack driver...

I'd have to concur with this one. I've also got a Python, Trooper MKIII, and a Ruger Security Six...all 6" barrels, and all blue except for the 686. I'd have a hard time giving up the Security Six, but if I could only keep 1, it'd be the 686. It's just a great all around .357.

For me it's my M65-3 3", but that M520 that Jimmyjoe put up looks strictly business. I could work that one!! PEN

That would be my first S&W, a 686 w/ 8 3/8" and adjustable front sight. Ordered it the way I wanted it. Had to sell it to pay medical bills. Very accurate pistol. I've never been able to find one like it for sale. BUT, I did find a Performance Center 686 Hunter for a good price at a local store. It's in lay-away. Put 3 other guns (GP-100, High Power and a P-38) on consignment to pay for it. I think the heart-ache is gone after 20 years.

Another vote for the 686. I have a 2 1/2 and I just got a 4 inch thursday. Both are SS and I have shot about 900 rounds in the 2 1/2 most were .357 with a few .38 specials. Both are 686-6 plus models, and lock or not I wouldn't trade them for anything.

My 686-6 6" is by far my favorite handgun. I bought it new a couple of years ago. It ain't elegant -- it's not even pretty -- with its Uncle Mike's rubber grips, but boy, does it ever shoot!

Thats not a fair question, sorta like when the wife asks "does my butt look fat in these jeans".
So I am not going to say which one I like best except to say the one that is with me at the range.

I'm trying to stay out of trouble here.

For me, that's an easy question.....my 686-4pp. It's accurate, fun to shoot, easy to clean and with the care I give it, will outlast all of us.

Whats your favorite .357 mag Smith?

Mine is the S&W K-frame; Model 13 or Model 65, as I prefer fixed sights. They're just the right size, weight, and configuration to be able to be shot accurately and comfortably with minimal practice.

At the moment, probably my 4" 327PD... tough to beat an eight shot light enough to carry all day.

I also love my 4" 686-3 in factory Midnight Black teflon or my 686P. And my dehorned, DAO 3" Model 66 too.

But perhaps my favorite .357, isn't a true .357. My daily CCW is a 242... 7 rounds of .38+P in an airweight centennial L frame is an ideal package for me. Not a "true" .357, but I probably wouldn't carry full .357's in it anyway. Does that count?

For me its my PC's M66 3" carry comp.
It is just right size and weight. Compensator works quite well too.
