Since you asked ... Here's my modified / customized ? 28-2. Great shooter and had the "it" factor as well.
That's really neat! Looks like you built you own 2.5" Model 19 instead of finding one. Pretty cool idea.

Thanks ... Actually, I bought it like that .. except for the grips. Bought it on looks and feel alone, and had no idea that it was unusual..?

Was discussed on another thread along with one that is its twin. Suspicions are high that it may be a Jovino custom. ( I have no idea if it is or isn't ) As soon as '09 rolls around I'll try to get it lettered to see.

My FAVORITE Smith & Wesson .357 revolver? That's EASY--the Model 686. In my case, it is a four-inch 686-5 with the seven-shot cylinder--for the burglar who THINKS he can count. Paulie686.

I've bought and sold many, these two are keepers.

586-1 4" Tack driver

627-0 My Cadillac. Pop off the heaviest round you could possibly load into a .357 and it feels like a 38Spl. Accurate too.

Hi all this is my favorite .357 Magnum. Pre-27 5 screw 1955 6"er have a 28-2 6" and a 19-3 4" but i like this one the best.[IMG:left]

+1

My Model 65 same-same only silver.

Smith & Wesson's fixed sight, round butt, .357 Magnum K frames are probably the world's finest combat revolvers.

Favorite for what?

For concealed carry, I like my 640-3. Don't mind scuffing up that IL equipped lead spitter. It's in a Kramer pocket holster with a speedloader next to it, and it's good to go.

For sweet shooting, give me the old RM with a 4 inch barrel, please.

I think that if I had to carry in an open holster for social events or for a secondary weapon for hunting or for wandering around in the boonies, I would want a 627 with again, a 4 inch barrel. And 8 shots, please.

If I was to use it for actual hunting, again I would probably want a 627, but with a longer barrel, of course.

So hard to pick a single one. I'd just say it doesn't matter as long as it's an N frame.

Probably the 5 inch Model 27-2

But my 27 with tactical finish is hard to ignore

Sir, I kinda like this one. It looks better in the pic than in person (:-/), but it's a good shooter.

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

I've always liked these too, but it might be time for some intervention.
