What's your favorite K frame?

Whew!!!!!!!!!!! I've got 4 but out of them I'd have to pick the 66-1 4"-probably the perfect revolver. (and I've got a bunch;))
On second thought-I'll say the perfect centerfire revolver would be my 681.
Damnit!!! Nevermind-they're all pretty darn good.

I have several K-frames, but for some reason I am drawn to this simple but effective model 10-6. It is a shooter grade that works and works well. What's not to like?

My favorite K-frame is my Model 616, the gun S&W should have built but never did. I had to build my own because I wanted a K-frame in 32 and they were just too hard to find. Any target sighted K-frame 32 would have been fine, but since I had to build my own, I went for it all. I like my '40s vintage K-22 and K-38, and if I could find a matching K-32 I could buy without selling about everything I own, I'd add that, but for now I'll just have to settle for this as my favorite...

Man, why do you have to ask such a tough question? I really like my post war/pre-10's, the K-22's, 15's and 19's. Just to make it easy for me I'll throw in something bordering on unique. A matte blue 19-5, 2 1/2" with a very short production run. It letters as shipped to the U.S. State Department and I posted it a couple years ago when I found it. Actually it found me. The matte finish is what prompted me to get the letter.

I think at present it would have to be my 67 no-dash. But in the future it may be my 64-2, when I can shoot it as well as the 67.

I skimmed down the list, thought rim fires might be banned until I saw Iggy's post. I like my old 22 Masterpiece, followed by my 4" Nickle 19. But then I've always thought Mae West was about right so I really prefer my N-Frame.

Do you think if I had the BBL relined to .22 and a blank cylinder drilled that I might get 20-25 rounds out of it?

Gotta Luv the K Frames

Well I have 3 K frames my most recent a chromed Model 10 with the thin barrel beautiful gun. My 2 is a Model 66 no dash 4 inch barrel all stainless including the front & rear sights this one is my favorite .357. Last my oldest K frame My Model 17 6 inch barrel .22LR very accurate and absolute beautiful gun. Traded a 6 inch barreled Model 19 straight across for it. Felt so bad years later got the Model 66 had been wanting a 4 inch barreled .357 anyway. So I really like my collection of K frames my next is going to be a 19/66 2.5 barrel or a 13/65 3 inch barrel round butt or I would also be happy with a Model 10 with a 3 inch barrel. K frames to me is the best size of S&W's:D

My Model 18 is my second favorite. If it were not for the sentimental value of my M65 the 18 would be at the top.

Model 10 . Everything you need and nothing you don't. Prettiest revolver on the planet. I dream about it sometimes.

I had to divide this into Centerfire and Rimfire...

For a centerfire it would be a 3" 66...

This one also has an extra cylinder for my favorite semi-auto pistol round... .38 Super....this with Supers...

For rimfire it is a tossup between a 4" 48 and a 6" 53 both with extra Long Rifle cylinders...

Some previous owner put in a Combat wide trigger and 1950s hammer...

This is a first year of production 53 with extra rimfire cylinder...have had it since 1974...

It was my only .22 until I started teaching shooting in the early 1990s...

At the moment it's my M15 two inch.
It just seems better balanced than my M19 and M66 2.5 guns.
The difference is slight but there.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm new to the forum page and I see so many great threads I missed out on! The only K frame I have so far is a blued, snub Model 15. I really love snub and 4" barrel 19's and snub 10's, but my 15 is in superb shape and it is exquisite! I have been shooting guns since I was about 6 or 7, got my first gun at 10 years old, and I had never liked revolvers my whole life. I used to listen to the hype of low capacity, harder to reload jive, but in the last year or so, I have watches many westerns and film noirs and detective/mobster TV shows and movies and for some reason, revolvers not only grew on me, but have also become my favorite type of gun. Bought an 1873 replica single action 45 long colt and it was done Hill from there. I have 4 snub DA wheel guns now, 2 Taurus (617 and 605) which I do love, but I have always been an old school kind of guy and guns are no different. I have my blued Model 15-3 and a 36 no dash in nickel. I want so many of them! Point of my story is since acquiring my 15, I have grown to feel that in my opinion, that is the most beautiful handgun in the world. A little hard to conceal, but it makes a great house piece while my 36 is my travel buddy. Love them both dearly. Now I want about 15 S&W's and about 6 or 7 Colts. My last 4 guns have been revolvers and I have no plans on buying another semi-auto until I fill out my collection of Smiths and Colts first.

I made the mistake of letting a Model 13 3 inch slip past me a few months ago. I didn't have any Smiths yet and wanted to put my money towards a different model and I got a 15-3 snub blued and 36 nickel no dash and I was right when I said I'd be kicking myself in the rear one day, my foot is still swingin.

An M13 3" is something of a grail gun. I let one go years ago to get a Ruger SP101...I need to kick myself again...
