What's your favorite part of the Thanksgiving Feast?

Like many it’s being with loved ones.
Sadly since my Dad passed it hasn’t been the same.
My family fractured shortly afterwards.
Now I am kind of the black sheep. I don’t feel comfortable around my own family, outside of one sister and her family.

I am single and cooking for Me. Inclement weather tomorrow bring two Ladies who don't want to drive to Wyoming in a snowstorm. Either way I will eat turkey for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a week. Then no more till next Thanksgiving.

Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

I used to love it all. The turkey, stuffing, corn, taters and gravy, rolls, cranberry sauce and 4 or 5 different pies for dessert. But mostly I loved being with my family.
This will be my first Thanksgiving alone and I find I don't care what's on the table. This year my favorite part will probably be the french fries. Maybe the chicken sandwich.
I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving.

Got a great family but all 20 of them are getting together at my SIL rather small house for dinner tomorrow. I do love pumpkin pie and cranberry sauce but I am staying at home. Getting too old to deal with that many people jammed together. Maybe someone will bring me some take out

Good cornbread dressing with turkey gravy on top.

In the old days when I was a kid we would go to my grandparent's down in the Rio Grande Valley. Big get together at one set of grands on Thanksgiving eve and again at the other set of grands the next day. Massive family time. Nowadays it is just me and Mom. My best friend and his son will be coming this year because his daughter's partner got Covid recently. I spent this evening after dinner making deviled eggs and getting the green bean casserole ready for the oven tomorrow. I have dark meat off of giant turkey legs and white meat turkey from the BBQ joint around the corner. Best friend is bringing cornbread dressing that he makes pretty darn well.

My favorite part of Thanksgiving is my leftover turkey sandwich the day after. White and dark meat with lots of filling on white bread. Thanksgiving is always a busy day since we host everyone, Friday is the day I can enjoy the food in peace.

There are two highlights of the actual Thanksgiving day. One is my turkey leg. I’ve gotten one of the legs every Thanksgiving since I was three years old. The other highlight is the filling, made with my grandfathers recipe. The recipe goes back to the 1930’s. My mom makes the filling now, and she still has the recipe my grandfather wrote out for her when she hosted her first Thanksgiving in 1980.

Headed to my sons just in time for a winter storm warning tomorrow 😂. This should be good,my daughter in laws brother and wife are smoking a turkey and doing something with smoked venison while E&E are making the sides and a charcuterie board. I’m taking a box full of Italian cookies from the Sicilian down the street 😄

My favorite part of the meal is fresh calabacitas. Calabacitas is bacsically squash or zuquini with corn, onions, a bit of garlic. Served hot, with butter, it's the best!

Some folks add green chile, but I prefer without. I'll eat it, but if it's too hot, I'll pass. It's no fun eating with your mouth on fire and sweating, to me, but some folks like to suffer!

If dinner is at my house, I'm happy when everyone leaves. We have to go to my step daughter's house this year. Their 1st Thanksgiving being married and in their house. I still have to fry a turkey; that's every year. I have 2 fryers. A couple times I fried two. It's always fun until clean up time. I'll go out tomorrow and put the oil back in the jugs and clean the fryer. My son-in-law's mom has zero personality but is a great cook, so this year may be good! No stinky leftovers taking up room where there could be beer.
