What's your GOTO food when it's really hot outside?

Big bowls of fresh fruits. Watermelon, strawberries, cherries, pineapple, grapes. mellon. Garden tomatoes when rip. Corn on the cob. And cold beer, but thats all year.

Don't know if I really have one. I'll agree with those who posted pasta salad, mixed fruit bowls (melon, cantaloupe, watermelon, strawberries, pineapple, grapes), and smoothies (I'm rather partial to mango smoothies). Chilled berries are good, too. Strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. Those are very enjoyable on a hot day.

Ice cream I'll eat anytime, even if the temps are single digits outside.

When I was young, Dad was a regional produce manager for a grocery chain (Big Bear), he would pick the perfect ripe watermelon (oblong, light green color, no stripes) then we would head to grandpa's dairy farm. Back then the milk was stored in 10 gallon cans in a chiller full of 33 to 37 degree water. We would wash and then slide the watermelon into the chilled water for a few hours. On a hot summer afternoon, my cousins and I would pig out on the sweetest coldest delight known to humankind!

Salad with lots of veggies and some thinly sliced med-rare steak with blue cheese vinaigrette dressing with sun brewed iced tea.
Or if I am feeling lazy, tacos with home made corn tortillas With iced tea.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there a watermelon for adults where a core is taken out and some adult refreshment is poured in to soak for a while?
