What's your most recent firearm purchase, and why did you buy it?

...a GLOCK of all things...

I got "into" 10mm last year and ended up with several including a new Glock 40 long slide. I shot a friends G20/3 a few weeks ago and liked the grip just a little more than the G40/4.

Took a motorcycle ride on Wednesday and at a big local shop was a fully customized G20/3. Lone Wolf barrel, my favorite TruGlo TFO night sights, undercut trigger guard, stippled grip and full camo Ceracoat...didn't even look like it had been fired...$495...some price they were asking for other used 10mm glocks...

Took it out Thursday and it is a great shooter...one ragged hole at 15 yards.

No clue why someone would buy a new Glock, add $100 sights, $125 barrel and who knows how much for the custom work and then sell it...

Bob

ps...that said the week before I did get back from a friend a Smith I should have never sold...a 625-7 PC 5" .45 ACP....

I bought a couple last Saturday; a new M&P 2.0 Compact and a 4" Model 66-4. I bought the 2.0C because I always find myself picking up my Shield over the G43 as my EDC and I wanted to compare it to the G19's I have. I bought the Model 66 because, well, it was a good price and it's a pre-lock Model 66.

Most recent S&W is a 459 with the "short, fat" extractor. I bought it because I got a fully-functional DA/SA pistol in great condition made in the USA for $353, including tax. I collect the "wonder nines" that were all the rage when I came of age. This old came with the magazine with the flat metal floor plate.

The most recent purchase is a Ruger Standard that Clark Custom modified with a bull barrel and a BoMar sight rib back when they were in Keithville, LA. Why? Because I love rimfire guns that exhibit great American craftsmanship, and the very first firearm I shot back in 1973 was a Ruger Standard.

My latest was a Ruger American Rimfire. Why did I buy it? Never could get my wife to give up her's long enough to let me get any trigger time with it! [emoji48]

It has it's own thread... Gun Show Finds. October 7th, 2017. But here is a model 39-2, still looks like NIB, and has the matching box and all tools and papers except for the swab....

I bought it because I can resist everything except temptation!!!

Best Regards, Les

My last purchase was a 45 Shield. I have no use for it and although I've shot it, it's unlikely i will ever carry it. It was just so cheep with the rebate and the LGS discount, I just couldn't pass it up!

This is my last planned purchase and unlike the Shield, it will be carried as my new north woods trail gun.

Dan Wesson Specialist commander

For me it was a Dan Wesson Specialist - commander length in stainless steel. I am very, very impressed. Well made gun.

I lusted for a Specialist for quite some time, recently got a bonus and applied it to this purchase.

Yesterday. A Browning Hi-Power, "T-series" from 1965 I think it was...65 or 66 anyway. Finish challenged, but priced more like a FEG or and Argie than a Browning. Anyway, I've owned both the FEG and an Argentine Hi-Power, but sold them for one reason or another. Figured it was about time to try a Browning.

I think a little Flitz, some Ren Wax, and a little elbow grease will help with the finish. No pictures, sorry. It's on layaway for a little while anyway.

Finally found a nice Finnish VKT Lahti to go with an original wooden holster stock I bought about 30 years ago. I'll post pictures when Lathi arrives and I can put the two parts together.

I have been obsessed with 1911 handguns the past few months. Lately the 4" version. When I spotted this Colt pre 80 series Combat Commander at a bargain price I knew it would go home with me

A New Old Stock 629-4 Classic DX in a 6 1/2" barrel in box with all the goodies that come with it as it left the factory.

Why, because it is such a cool revolver that I could not pass up.
