Wheelgunners, when you are out and about how many reloads do you carry?

As specifically related to wheelguns, normally no reloads when carrying around the house and on the grounds. When I go outside our place, however, one reload seems sufficient, regardless of whether I'm armed with a 5-round J frame or a 6-round K frame.

One reload- either a speedloader or a speedstrip in a small knife pouch, carried in rear pocket with hanky opposite wallet.

Like others have stated, in the event of a shooting, the last thing I want is to be standing around with an empty gun wondering if the police or the thug's buddies will be the first on scene.

The threats have always existed, it's just replaced with different groups every few years. To think otherwise is quite ignorant.

I have not lived in a violent place like Chicago so perhaps I
was blissfully not aware of how bad it is. There
used to be gangs etc, but back then i do not recall that the
threats were being imported into the country. I have no
control over that, but i can can carry as many guns as I like
in Texas and as many rounds as i like. In fact it was the
incident at Ft. Hood before I ever decided to get
a gun permit. I have checked the stats on gang activity
and there are 100,000 in Texas. There are 35 gangs or more in
the closest city of any size to me. So I figure that if it hits
the fan, i do not want to run out of ammo. So the increase
in gang activity and the possibility of ISIS terrorists among
refugees being brought in factors into how much ammo I
carry. So the more i see government policies contribute to
the problem, the more gunning up I will do.

I carry the mag that is in my Glock 19. If after 15+1 and the fight isn't over, one way or another, it must be my time to go.

Hello, fortunately, my accident had nothing to do with carrying, but one has influenced the other.

Back in '07, a Cadillac crossed the center line and hit my Harley head on. Had my 24th surgery from that accident this past September. As a result of the accident, I am disabled with three damaged limbs. As could be expected with today's state of affairs, I feel like a willing victim.

For when I travel where my permit is honored, I want to be able to protect my children and myself should the need arise.
Sorry for your misfortune I ride and know where you are coming from
hope you continue to improve

I just wear an Alessi shoulder rig. It came with a pouch to carry six spare rounds. I added another pouch for two speed strips and six rounds in loops. That makes for a total of 24 extra rounds for a five shot gun, or four reloads and 80 percent of a fifth. I probably actually should stick a loose round in my pocket just to even out the numbers. The increase in weight is very marginal compared to the original set up.

One of these days I want to get a custom Andrews Urban Safari rig and a second CZ SP 01 plus the four spare mag set up then add the optional ten mags across the back. There are worse things in life than clanking when you walk.

Just one, a Safariland COMP-1 or 2, and typically in one of their Split Five or Split Six holders carried weak side.

I'm of the rationale that I'm more likely to run out of time before I run out of ammo.

One speed strip for the 642 or the 7 round mag if the shield is the gun of the day.

None actually. I never liked those gadgets for reloading revolvers. If I'm in the woods hunting, I'll drop a dozen rounds in my pocket. For self defense, it's over so fast. Six rounds better do it. I read once that when those samurai warriors used to fight with their swords, the whole fight was over in a matter of seconds and the winner often was so cut up he didn't survive. Kind of like a gun fight. . .you'd better be ready to die if you get into one.
