I've got a beautiful 6690, that's accurate and reliable as sunrise.

I know these were transitional guns and were not produced in large quantities, less than 900 if the research information proves out. Boxes and literature are virtually non existent, so putting together a package with all the goodies won't happen. I'd even be happy if I could just find an actual manual for the one I have.

Some research here only shows about four of them held by members, unless someones not telling, and I found one other thread on another forum where another guy had one.

Have they just dropped off the face of the Earth? If you have one, show it off and let's get a count.

I owned one of the 6690's, but sadly, I sold it when I was out of work in the mid 90's.

Fortunately, i had the wisdom to buy a 6906, while they were common at the gun shows, so I had it when I got my CC license.

I sure wish I had hung onto that 6690.

But then, I regret nearly EVERY firearm I have sold or traded, over the past 30 plus years.

You younger guys: think long and hard before you sell or trade away a gun that you really liked when you got it.

Odds are, that new plastic semiauto isn't going to shoot any better than one or more of the pistols you already own.

Getting a new gun is always exciting, but you have to think: is the new gun really any better than what you are selling or trading... or is it just newer?

And, that gun you are getting rid of. Are they still being made? Will you be able to replace it easily, if you regret selling it, in future years?

I sure wish I had thought of this, when I was buying and selling so many firearms.

The SCSW only has one word for the 6690....scarce!

Here's a picture of my "scarce" one. RSR43XX The best $275 I've ever spent.

And the 6690 was the "most common" of this group made for RSR.:)

Not mine but I have seen 6690, RSR45xx.

Well said Goldenlight. I agree. It is very hard to regain what is lost or sold or given up in the fever of a new passion. Usually all that I have ever gained is regret. What is new can be exciting; what you have is usually satisfying. For me satisfaction last longer.

Not looking good. :(

We have one "in possession", one "used to have one", and one "I have seen one".

I'm thinking "scarce" is turning into "there ain't none nowhere" (sorry about the double negative).

An older thread but...two of these have turned up on a local forum. One gone, one for sale/trade. :( Sadly no funds or extras to trade.

I have a 669 and 6906. W ould also like to find a 6690 but the one I saw on gb was way to expensive
