Where are all the Gen 1-2-3 mags?

Small score that I found in one of the "1911" mag bins at my LGS. They're out there! Don't be bashful and dig through as many accessory and mag bins as you can, and know what you're looking for :)

Went to Berea show today, Saturday. Picked up 4 mags, 645 8rd with orange follower, std 40S&W 11rd with yellow follower, 69series ( I guess for a 6904) blue/black with metal baseplate, and a non OEM S&W 6904 with metal baseplate.
Going back tomorrow.

When I checked Midway the other day, the CS9 mags were out-of-stock, but could be back-ordered ... while the 3913/908 factory mags were now listed as Discontinued.

When I called the S&W factory (to order something else, as an armorer), I was told that they didn't have any 3913 magazines in inventory, and the person with whom I was speaking had no idea if they were going to be available in the future.

Now, most of the people I used to talk to at the factory have since retired, so I don't have many remaining contacts who could check higher up the food chain anymore. It wouldn't be the first time I was told something wasn't going to be reordered for 3rd gen guns, only to have it later appear for a vendor order, so time will tell.

In the meantime, if you want to enjoy a bit of sticker shock, try browsing for 3913 mags on ebay. Some folks apparently think theirs are made of Gold Pressed Latinum (STTNG reference :) ).

At least some places, like Midway, are still carrying the parts to repair/rebuild the 7 & 8rd single stack 9mm S&W 3rd gen mags.

Went back to the Berea show today, Sunday. Picked up 4 S&W magazines. A 40S&W 11rd red baseplate (LE range training mag-needed one for my collection), a 45 8rd with yellow follower, a 45 7rd with red follower, and a 45 7rd with black follower.

A nearby military surplus store (and former gun store) has numerous 9mm double stack mags, and other 3rd Gen single stacks of various calibers. I'm guessing that 50-60% are new. Also has a pair of used single stack 40XX mags....I was told that $40 is cheap for those, and was going to purchase them, but a generous member of this forum sold me several for less (thanks again).
I'm tempted to make an offer on all of the S&W mags, most of which would become trade fodder. The shop owner is nearing 80 and may soon close the doors for good. He no longer sells firearms because of the strict new rules designed to make small gun shop owners close up, or stop selling guns. Illinois sucks. Glad to be retiring in 4 months...leaving ASAP

I guess I've been living under a rock for a long time. I've had my 3913 for a number of years and have carried it on occasion. I bought a couple of mags for it years ago, put them up somewhere and forgot about them til recently. Unfortunately, now I can't even find where I put them. Having just the two original mags, I figured I'd look for a couple more, and if I find the other two - even better. Well, dang, I just discovered they're discontinued.

Recently picked up these in a purchase. Two reasons i bought it were that is is off roster in california the other is the nine magazines (five 7 round 4516 mags and four 8 round 4506 mags) which i knew were becoming like hens teeth.
